The process is quite simple: You need to prove that the blog is notable. The fact that it isn't spam is neither here nor there. Have a read of WP:WEB and see if the blog matches any of the criteria there, then post in the AfD discussion demonstrating why/how it does this. If you can do that, the article will be kept and the AfD notice will be removed. If, however, you can't do that, the article will be deleted.

PS: I'm archiving my Talk page at the moment, so if you have any more questions, just post a new heading on the page and I'll answer your questions. You can also respond here and I'll answer any questions you have. BigHaz 23:10, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions[edit]

Have I proved [Malaysia Students] is not a spam blog in the article for deletion page, haven't I? Now, most Wikipedia users have marked Malaysia Students entry as spam entry, I guess the entry is a spam entry for most people who are not Malaysian students. So, now I decide to delete the entry so that when people including Malaysian students search for Malaysia Students, they will not be shown the so-called "spam entry", may I know how to delete the entry now? Cupid9 07:18, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nowhere is the blog being referred to as a "spam blog". All that's under discussion is whether it's notable. We're not accusing you of spamming or anything like that, and neither are we saying that that's what the blog exists to do. That's what the AfD note is there to say and also what everyone's talking about in that discussion. If you want the article deleted now rather than trying to save it, your best bet is to post in the AfD saying that you are the author of the article and you want it deleted. It may then be deleted automatically, or you may need to wait a couple of days. Alternatively, you are welcome to prove that the blog is notable in accordance with WP:WEB. Again, if you need more help, don't hesitate to ask. It's what I'm here for. BigHaz 07:46, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I decide to wait for a few days for it to be deleted automatically. Thanks.Cupid9 08:24, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to a blog in Education in Malaysia. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source. Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on external links for more information.

I never said the blog was spam. All I said was that it violated the external link guidelines. Veinor (talk to me) 19:24, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a good link because, roughly, anyone can own and operate a blog/forum. For that reason, and others, there are external link guidelines and rules for what constitutes a reliable source. Veinor (talk to me) 19:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please check all the links. There're a few blogs and forum link. Should you remove? If not, how do you judge which blogs which forum are reputable enough to be linked? Just because I create the link recently, you judge it as not reputable, it's unfair.Cupid9 19:32, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Generally speaking, the blogs that are reliable enough to be removed are written by recognized experts in the field. See WP:RS for more info; it's the official guideline for what constitutes reliable sources. Veinor (talk to me) 19:38, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"I didn't choose to keep them so much as not choose to remove them, if you get what I mean." I don't understand. So next time should I wait until you offline to add a link? So that you don't choose to keep it and don't choose to remove it? If you know that there're a few blog links there but they're added before you noticed, they become reputable? Even you believe blogs and forum are non-reputable links? Please play fair.Cupid9 19:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? How am I being fair? All I'm saying is that I was rushed and didn't notice the other ones. I can't watch every single page and look at every single link. Veinor (talk to me) 19:42, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, now I tell you. There're a few links to blogs and forum under the reference section in Education in Malaysia including the one I added recenlty. Now, if you really want to delete them, delete all of the links to blogs and forum. And let people judge whether they should be removed or kept.
I saw one blog (which is now removed). I see no fora. Veinor (talk to me) 19:53, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
