Wikipedia is not a social network or a place to write about yourself[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. We're sorry if this message has discouraged you from editing here, but the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia (please see What Wikipedia is not for further details). Thank you. Hi Colleen and thanks for you message on my talk page. Your new user page looks good to me. I can't see your old one from 2 months ago, but if you had links to other websites (your own, a blog, linked in, Facebook etc) those are the kinds of things that would usually flag it as possible self-promotion and why it would have come to my attention. If you're looking for more information, WP:USER has a long list of what you may and may not have on your user page. But as I said, yours looks fine now. Hi again, I am assuming this message is from you even though it was written while you were logged out and so has an IP address rather than your user name? (That's a good thing to be aware of for the future, please remember to log in!) If so, I'm not sure what you mean as the user page I said looks good has not be deleted and is still there currently?
