{{helpme}} I need help redirecting the page Paul Shackel to Paul A. Shackel. I already redirected it once, but it got switched around so that instead of being from Paul Shackel to Paul A. Shackel, it is from Paul A. Shackel to Paul Shackel. The title needs to be the former. please help! (CwAnth09 (talk) 18:46, 24 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Can you explain why you want the redirect to be that way? Since we have only one Paul Shackel here, I don't see a compelling need to include his middle name in the title. If you want to discuss this, the best place is on the article's talk page here. Tim Song (talk) 18:57, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have just undone the bad redirect a second time. If you want the article to be called Paul A. Shackel, it will have to be moved to that title, please do not copy and paste text as it really messes up the edit histories. If you explain what you want the title to be and why, we can help you. – ukexpat (talk) 20:28, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Especially when you leave out improvements that have been made! Toddst1 (talk) 05:03, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I did redirect it again. Sorry for the frustration. I did it before I got the message about moving it. Paul wants his middle initial included in the title--that's why I had to change it. CwAnth09 (talk) 17:16, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I can't find the "move" tap on the page to move it to the right one. I want to move it to Paul A. Shackel because that is the title it is supposed to have. CwAnth09 (talk) 17:30, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's probably because you're considered too new to give those privileges to. I've taken care of the move for you. Since you seem to have a connection to the subject, you should probably review WP:COI. Good luck and happy editing. Toddst1 (talk) 17:33, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

September 2009[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to Paul A. Shackel. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 13:44, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} what exactly is wrong with these citations on the Paul A. Shakel page? I need to know so that I can fix them and make the error message go away. CwAnth09 (talk) 17:13, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you mean Paul A. Shackel?
Much of the information on that page does not have a reference; the key policy is verifiability. For example, it says that "Shackel began his teaching career as an Adjunct Instructor, Department of Social Sciences, Suffolk Community College" - how can a reader check that fact? Any information that does not have an appropriate, independent reliable source, may be removed.  Chzz  ►  17:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What if Paul Shakel was the one who wrote it? I made the page for him, but he gave me the information. How does that work?

CwAnth09 (talk) 17:28, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It still needs to be verifiable by reference to other reliable sources. If it cannot be verified it is subject to deletion per WP:BLP. – ukexpat (talk) 19:40, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I forgot how to make a reference within the document and a reflist. CwAnth09 (talk) 18:44, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} what did i do wrong with these references? i thought i formatted them correctly, but it's not working for me. this is for the page on Stephen A. Brighton

CwAnth09 (talk) 19:20, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You used </ref></ref>. The correct method is <ref></ref>. There is no slash in the first one.-- fetchcomms 19:39, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fetchcomms is correct, he and I were both attempting to address this at the same time :D. The <ref> is what starts the reference text, and the </ref> tag is what ends it. I think I've fixed all of these now. Also, as a side note, to link to a page in Wikipedia (for example, Stephen A. Brighton) place double square brackets around the link text, so [[Stephen A. Brighton]] produces Stephen A. Brighton. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 19:45, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! what an stupid mistake....

December 2009[edit]

I noticed you have made a great number of small edits to the Mark P. Leone article. I would like to draw your attention to the Sandbox, where you can make test edits. You can also preview the changes you make to an article by using the show preview button instead of the save changes button. In this way, you can make several incremental changes and then once you're satisfied with the result, you can press the save changes button. This will prevent the article history from getting clogged with a bunch of test edits or small changes. Of course, the best thing to do is to create the page first in your userspace and once it's ready, put it on the mainspace. Regards, PDCook (talk) 19:46, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice! CwAnth09 (talk) 20:29, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Stephen A. Brighton has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Stephen A. Brightonnews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
