A tag has been placed on How to add wikipedia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Fan-1967 23:54, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not remove tags[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you.

You may call it "purely history of a company and its founder". Any objective person would label it an ad. Fan-1967 00:05, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your question[edit]

The nature of the page you created makes it quite clear that you intend to promote your company. You may use different terms to describe it, as I noted above, but the intent is still quite clearly advertorial and promotional. Per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, you should not create an article on a subject you are close to. The content of the article, as well as the fact that you thought it acceptable without the direct links, made it quite clear that you cannot produce an objective article on your own company.

Truly, notable companies, like IBM or Coca-Cola, do not need to create articles about themselves. Others, uninvolved and unbiased, naturally create articles on such corporations. If no one outside your company has felt it merits an article, it does not belong. Fan-1967 00:22, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
