License tagging for Image:Gamede.A2007058.0700.2km.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gamede.A2007058.0700.2km.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:05, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, you may want to consider moving List of Louisiana hurricanes to a user subpage (example, User:Hurricanewatcher/List of Louisiana hurricanes), where it could be worked on without being in main "article" space first. This is advantageous as it won't give the impression of an unfinished article to anyone who stumbles across the page. – Chacor 02:17, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Here's a few tips that'll help. First, have you considered writing the entire article in prose, such as in the form of List of Delaware hurricanes? Second, where are you getting those names from? Unless they are widely known as an actual name (1856 Last Island hurricane could count), they should all probably remained unnamed. Third, the list would be unofficial if you rely solely on landfalls. Forth, you should use a better site than Weatherunderground. Hurdat would work, though that would still be relying on landfalls (unless you include met data, which would include other storms affecting the state). Lastly, the list needs to encompass all storms from the beginning of record-keeping. Some of my favorites will help you in your search for information. Good luck on such a large project! No problem. OK about the names, though as only a few of them have articles before modern, official naming began. A rule of thumb you can use is giving them names if they have articles, and leaving the rest unnamed. Hurricanehink (talk) 23:31, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, maybe not. The names are not official, and that should be stated, but I suppose it can't hurt having the NHC names in there for the pre-1950 storms. However, I personally think those without articles should not be wikilinked. Additionally, storms that were unnamed should not be wikilinked unless you wikilink them as such; Unnamed. Yea, something like that :) The main thing is getting the information in there. The formatting can be changed later, if necessary, but it doesn't hurt to be organized from the beginning. Hurricanehink (talk) 15:13, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
