Speedy deletion nomination of Scaje[edit]

A tag has been placed on Scaje requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Scaje[edit]

Good morning from the holy city!
Chaim, while it sounds like Scaje could go somewhere, for the moment it seems to lack notability. I know the scene you are describing and I think it's great but jamming a few melaveh malkah's with Chaim Dovid or Shlomo Katz does not merit an encyclopedia entry. I'd say if you want you should start playing your own melaveh malkahs (even local small ones for schools and charities), build a bit of a fan base, maybe record a few shows and put them on LMA and then with a write up in a few papers you can come back and repost this article. (Even then it will be edited down to 30% of its current length.

On a different note, please clarify the edit you made to Contemporary Jewish religious music. The statement you are making is true but it sounds like it should be a new paragraph about the post-carlebach musical style (Shlomo Katz, Chaim Dovid, Reva lsheva, Moshav). Thanks. Update. Thank for the response. I see you improved the article and that's good. I truly do not believe that it will stay. Keep in mind, WP to an extent assumes lack of notability until proven otherwise. Use what you are learning now about how the system works to improve a few other articles. It will also give you some more street cred with the folks here. Take a look at what I did with your Dov Shurin article and try and do the same with the one you created on Chaim-Dovid. Take a look and Chaim Dovid's talk page. Joe407 (talk) 04:19, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Scaje, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scaje. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Evil saltine (talk) 03:36, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Result[edit]

Yo, Cysinger. I am the deciding administrator for the Scajé deletion discussion. While there is consensus that the article is not yet ready for inclusion in the encyclopaedia, I have declined to delete it for now, and have instead moved it to User:Cysinger/Scaje to give you chaps a chance to look for sources. When you think it's ready, and are sure it meets WP:BAND, feel free to request reinstatement at deletion review. Good luck, and thanks for your contributions! Thanx, I (with a lil help from my friends) will try to get the appropriate info.... is there a time limit?...Shana Tova ImTuka!Cysinger (talk) 00:32, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, although some asshole might put it up for deletion after a few months if they think no-ones making an effort :)  Skomorokh  00:36, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Branching out[edit]

Just a short note to say thank you for moving beyond the page you started with and to creating new WP material. Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future. Joe407 (talk) 07:34, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chaim Dovid[edit]

Thank you for starting the article on Chaim-Dovid Saracik. I just did a major expansion. Perhaps you could keep going? Joe407 (talk) 13:39, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of User:Cysinger/Scaje[edit]

User:Cysinger/Scaje, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Cysinger/Scaje and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Cysinger/Scaje during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion.
