Speedy deletion of YourStory.in[edit]

A tag has been placed on YourStory.in requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome, but about your article.[edit]

Are you aware that an article about a website needs an assertation of importance otherwhise it can be quickly deleted under the criteria for speedy deletion A7 (An article about a real web page in this case, with no content to indicate notability).

If your well formatted article is to remain created then you will need to provide evidence that the subject (YourStory.in) is notable enough as per wikipedia's guidelines. I Grave Rob«talk» 11:30, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image request[edit]

Hi and thank you for your request! Unfortunately your request has been declined. The reason is shown on the main Images for Upload page. This request will be archived after seven days. Regards,-Andrew c [talk] 15:15, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If your article is brought up to standards and is accepted, then having the logo of the organization should fall within our WP:NFC. We should be able to tag the image as {{Non-free logo}} and use {{Logo fur}} for the fair use rationale. Having an accompanying image doesn't seem like that big of a deal. The big deal is whether or not this subject meets our WP:WEB guidelines for inclusion. Also, you said you are an employee of the company in question. Have you read WP:COI? Users are highly discouraged from editing topics where there may be a conflict of interest. -Andrew c [talk] 16:05, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at D'artagnan7. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=D'artagnan7|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article:
  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.

  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:10, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
