Please revoke TPA for the following user

Please revoke TPA for @Allah is the cure for transgender. I think this may also be a sock of WP:LTA/BMX. IanDBeacon (talk) 21:35, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for keeping an eye on that! DMacks (talk) 21:38, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

Talk page

I should have remembered to ask for talk page revocation, I forgot, sorry. Allah is the cure for transgender. (talk · contribs) Knitsey (talk) 21:36, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

No worries. I actually acted based on their edits popping up on my watchlist, so I have no idea what you filed at AIV. But regardless, thanks for helping clean up that mess. DMacks (talk) 21:39, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
No problem, I didn't see the talk message above this one. Knitsey (talk) 21:40, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

RevDel

Hi DMacks, would you be able revision delete the Allah is the cure for transgender (talk · contribs) contributions relevant to WP:CRD 2, 3? Thanks, Wracking talk! 22:20, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

User:Daniel Quinlan got it. DMacks (talk) 23:16, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

Proteins aren't normally considered chemical compounds. Shh is already listed in List of unusual biological names. There are some other proteins on List of chemical compounds with unusual names that should be moved as well. Natureium (talk) 23:10, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

I'm going to have to call [citation needed] on "Proteins aren't normally considered chemical compounds." (though some are more formally supramolecular clusters). But I have no objection to an editorial distinction of small molecules vs biologicals for separate list articles. And if so, I agree that there is a bunch of cleanup needed. The List of chemical compounds with unusual names does not define its scope in the lead. It should have a clear pointer to the List of unusual biological names rather than just (now that I know to look for it) a SEEALSO. And conversely the biological-names should have a clear pointer to the chemical-compounds page and scrap its "Molecules" section. DMacks (talk) 04:45, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Cunningham Steam Wagon, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "generic title" error. References show this error when they have a generic placeholder title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 12:25, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

Disruptive editing

I am not disrupting the subreddit Erection I am simply getting rid of that photo because the name change was rejected. The photo is unnecessary and if you really want to show an erection for some reason then use a diagram Gex273 (talk) 19:34, 14 October 2023 (UTC)

Feel free to raise your concern on the article's talkpage. Your idea has been rejected multiple times there and in the article's history. DMacks (talk) 04:11, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

I tagged this as CSD copyright infringement just as you removed the section. Should I remove the tag? Knitsey (talk) 21:17, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

The whole thing was actually unsalvageable. I deleted it outright. Thanks for the followup though! DMacks (talk) 21:19, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Great, thanks for sorting it. Knitsey (talk) 21:21, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

Organic chemistry

Re [7], would you not agree that a sentence that says "Not only carbon and hydrogen that are studied in organic chemistry, but also other heteroatomes such as O, S, halogens (Cl, Br, I, F), phosphorus, silicon and Study of structure determines their structural formula." doesn't make any sense? To be honest the whole lead paragraph looks like it needs to be rewritten for clarity, but this part especially doesn't make any sense. Galobtter (talk) 04:00, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

I would agree that the lede is a mess and needs to be rewritten in a coherent way. Crappy writing that sort-of means something is better than a smaller amount of crappy writing that implies the wrong thing. But better writing is always better. DMacks (talk) 04:32, 30 October 2023 (UTC)

Sodium borohydride

I inserted a semi-sprawling table into sodium borohydride to convey the many additives that are used by organic chemists to modify this material. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Format is not my thing. Eventually I will hyperlink it. --Smokefoot (talk) 18:07, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Dhammika Perera

Hi, Kindly add the page to your watchlist. Perera declared his intention to run in the next year's presidential election. The page has plagued with promotional edits in the past. I suspect, as the presential election draws nearer, promotional editing will increase. Cheers! Chanaka L (talk) 13:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the info! Will do. DMacks (talk) 13:52, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Moving plans

I am splitting 1,2- and 1,3-dithiolanes out of dithiolane. I'm about half done. 1,3-Dithiolane has been created.

Since I mess up this procedure sometimes, I just want to check. I plan to leave dithiolane in place as a disambiguation page (for 1,2- and 1,3-isomer) and cut and paste most of its contents into 1,2-Dithiolane, which currently exists as a redirect to dithiolane.--Smokefoot (talk) 18:44, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

why did you revert my edit

what was the point of reverting my edit at the internet meme article , is it becuase of the image or what Кингзјевонњикимен (talk) 10:19, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

It is a self-made image that is trademark-infringing (though possibly free-license) based on WP:SYNTH of the article topic. DMacks (talk) 10:24, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

I did not confuse hydrogenation with hydration.

What did you mean by that? I wrote that acetonitrile gave ethylamine by hydrogenation. ⲔⲖⲞⲢⲠⲒⲔⲢⲒⲚ (talk) 12:31, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

In your chemical equation, you wrote "H2O". DMacks (talk) 12:32, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
Could be a device error. I don't remember typing in "H2O", i surely remember it as "H2". ⲔⲖⲞⲢⲠⲒⲔⲢⲒⲚ (talk) 13:15, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

note

On a whim, I looked at the template at the bottom of the page, and the next entries were Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear, and in those pages' recent edit history, found an IP which is doing similar things - [46].

Since the username's early edits were pretty clearly done to bypass autoconfirmed, I guess I shouldn't be surprised at an IP history of reverting over several related pages. - jc37 19:54, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
