Hey. It's Gregory Koch. Sorry about reverting the earlier reversion of Cowback's vandalism. It seemed like a good edit to me since I didn't know much about the history of the Invite. Keep up the good wikiwpork Smartyllama (talk) 13:01, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have reported him for vandalism. He should be blocked, hopefully for a while. He also messed up some UConn articles, which makes me think that he has a connection to the University. So he probably knows one of us. Which is creepy. Smartyllama (talk) 16:58, 28 November 2011 (UTC) I have reported him for vandalism. He should be blocked, hopefully for a while. Smartyllama (talk) 16:58, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks. He probably doesn't know me, though, as I've never been on UConn's campus. Hmm.
And he claimed to be Bird Waring, a name from the 'Vite. So he's probably familiar with the 'Vite, though I doubt he enters.
Anyway, the point is, yes it's creepy. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:02, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Probably 90% of Connecticutians either go to UConn, went to UConn, or have a close family member or friend who does/did. You're from Connecticut, correct? Smartyllama (talk) 17:08, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Correct. I know two people from school who go there, and have one other close friend who does. However, as far as I know, none of them know about the 'Vite, given that I didn't start entering until last January or so. My only other thought is that he might be watching (or on) the Devotees page. I only mentioned that I joined Wikipedia on your most recent post there. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:11, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I know at least one of the people you went to school with (I'll email you who if you want), since she was in my freshman English class. As I recall, I didn't start the Invite until Spring semester, though, and I haven't talked to her since. Smartyllama (talk) 17:21, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know who that was because of the puzzle I ran (remember)? But I doubt it would be her; I don't think she knows about the Invite, and the language Cowback uses would make me think that our vandal is male. But I'm no psychologist. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:25, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah.... I wouldn't have known this was you if you didn't also have the same username on ESPN.com. Do you use this name on a lot of websites? That could be how they knew it was you. Smartyllama (talk) 17:19, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No; I used DNOMN8R a few times though (mostly during laser tag), but the 3.14 is exclusive to here and ESPN. But you have a point. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:20, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They're probably just stalking me, on second thought. I posted saying I thought I knew them before they said I did. And that was due to their Invite and UConn edits, but if they know you and are from Connecticut, that could explain both of them. So perhaps the relevance to me is only incidental. Smartyllama (talk) 17:40, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe. But we do know that this person has some Invite knowledge. And I'm certainly creeped out. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:46, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matt[edit]

Hi, Friend from before. Remember me? Probably not. Cowback23451 (talk) 16:59, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know you; I only know you've been vandalizing the 'Vite page. I would report you if I knew how. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:02, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thankfully, I do, and I already did. See WP:AIV. And he apparently knew me too, although I suggested that first after he made edits to the Invite page and UConn pages. [1] Are there any other people with SI connections from Connecticut? Smartyllama (talk) 17:06, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not as far as I know. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:07, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could be someone who you went to high school with, I went to college with, and who knows about the Invite through one or both of us. I'm going to make a note to this page over on AIV so the admins can see it. Smartyllama (talk) 17:09, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could be. Don't know how they'd know my Wikipedia username though, given that I only joined a few weeks ago. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:12, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
See above. Smartyllama (talk) 17:19, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

November 2011[edit]

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Style Invitational, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Vandal. Please stop vandalizing. And stop accusing me of vandalizing. Cowback23451 (talk) 17:57, 28 November 2011 (UTC) Cowback23451 (talk) 17:57, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do I even need to respond? We all know you're the vandal. DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 17:59, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, you do not need to respond. Disregard the notice (which I have struck out). The user who left the "warning" has been blocked for disruptive editing.  Chzz  ►  12:06, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just a friendly reminder,

Don't forget to update roster counts (you left it at 11 Psquad) and roster date to the day you updated. Thanks ahead of time!

Patriots roster[edit]

In modifying Template:New England Patriots roster, you commented "per one of the beat writers". Please specify, so someone else can find the report. Regards, Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 14:57, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It was actually from a photo on the Patriots team Twitter account. I saw the numbers on a Tweet sent by Oliver Thomas, who writes about the team, and didn't know it had originally come from the team . DNOMN8R3.14 (talk) 15:05, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have any indication those are their permanent numbers, or just temporary ones grabbed out of a bin for the day? Either way, if in your comment you'd say "seen in picture tweeted by Oliver Thomas", that gives me and other editors something we can validate. I know you aren't playing games with the numbers, but many other people are. Regards, Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 15:28, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding date formats in references[edit]

When you add a reference to an article, if the subject is American, you need to use the American date format of Month, Day, Year. Just as you should in the article and infoboxes as well. The American format for American subjects, the other format for subjects from countries that use that format. (talk page stalker) CrashUnderride 22:17, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
