Your edits[edit]

I'm concerned that you may have a conflict of interest, per WP:COI, and that you're copying content of a promotional tone from other websites and pasting them onto a Wikipedia article, which may be a copyright violation. 99.156.68.118 (talk) 02:47, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

June 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Caryn Davies has been reverted.
Your edit here to Caryn Davies was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVYVs7q0kzQ) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 03:24, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright question[edit]

Re: your edit summary here [1], the possibility that the copied text in question was written by the article's subject doesn't help. If anything, it further complicates matters for not having been written by an objective third party source. Perhaps you could rewrite the passages in question, citing reliable sources other than Ms. Davies. The article does require further copy editing to remove unsourced anecdotal content and adhere to WP:NEUTRAL, a revised formatting (meet results ought to follow the body of the article) and inclusion of inline sources. Thanks, 99.156.68.118 (talk) 00:19, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your help desk question[edit]

People usually give one of these email addresses (I forget what formatting is normally used on the help desk): permissions-commons at wikimedia.org or permissions-en at wikimedia.org.— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:46, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 03:13, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, DRPeterJDavies. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Caryn Davies, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Isaidnoway (talk) 🍁 07:47, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The items I added were references of fact, not opinions, to update the record with more recent positions held, backed up by reference links. DRPeterJDavies (talk) 15:21, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless, you need to clarify if you have a conflict of interest regarding the subjects Caryn Davies or Peter J. Davies. Thuresson (talk) 05:22, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Does such "conflict of interest" preclude all postings or are referenced matters of fact such as official positions or awards permitted? 67.249.81.53 (talk) 15:01, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
