Nomination of 2015 Florida State Mall shooting for deletion[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article 2015 Florida State Mall shooting is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Current events[edit]
Hello, and thanks for your contributions. Please note that you don't need to (and in most cases should not) create articles about every person and agency peripherally involved in a recent event. There are several guidelines around these areas, including WP:NOTNEWS which says that Wikipedia is not a news agency and should only include articles on current events if they are likely to have lasting significance, and WP:BLP1E which says that articles should not be created about people who were in the news for one event but are otherwise ordinary citizens. As regrettable as it is, the Mall Shooting and the associated witnesses do not rise to this standard, and will probably be deleted. I've left a note at the top of this page containing many links to the various policies and guidelines for new users.
Additionally, you may want to look at WikiNews which is a wikipedia-affiliated news service, where this kind of thing may fit better. Since it is Wikipedia-affiliated, your same login will work there. Thanks, CrowCaw 23:12, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
