So I went to see where you'd used these and found your sandbox page where you had worked on the (badly named?) "emblem" thing. And it looked great, except the logo, when reduced, was not transparent. I don't know what is up with this. I downloaded your image, did a save-as in Pixen, which I find to be very good with transparency, and it did the same thing. You saw my my experiment; I've updated it with the following: Then I took an earlier version of the image, cut-pasted it into Pixen, and saved as and uploaded it as Image:Hawks shirt emblem 2.png. It seemed to work--though I don't think it looks exactly right. In any case, you're right: PNG overlays do not work in IE. According to the page at {{Superimpose}}, GIF will. Australian Baseball[edit]

I've noticed your page on your user about Australian Baseball. I think it's worth it. I had a bit of a read about it, it's not too hard to start the initial project and the expansion will always come. We have significant amount of pages to be considered a seperate project from the initial baseball one, which I think is focusing more on American baseball. This one can be more focussed. The project is created, it is EXTREMELY rough right now while I'm trying to make a rough layout, with a few templates to organise it. Sorry, but blink-182 isn't pop-punk.[edit]

Ive notice you continauly keep changing the bands genre from pop punk to punk rock and the opening paragraph to imply that the band is active, neither of these are the consensus that was reached on the articles talk page, please raise the issue there in future making, these changes to the article again can be considered vandalism. --Dan027 02:18, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey bro,

First of all, there was no consensus on the talk page at all.

Second, what you are doing can be tagged as vandalism as well.

Third, I started a new topic about it on blink- 182's talk page. You should look at what I wrote.

We're both blink fans, and that's cool, so lets come to an agreement over this topic.

And it should be "is" not "was". They took a break in 2002 also, when Tom formed Boxcar Racer. Just cause they're a little more pissed at eachother this time around doesn't mean the band has ceased to exist. It's a hiatus, not a break-up. If you look on Pink Floyd's page, it says "is" even though they are on a hiatus and have been for MANY years. Just leave it as "is" and "punk rock".

By the way, I think it's a little wierd that your profile says that you "like real punk rock and can't stand pop-punk" yet it also says you "love blink-182". So by that rationalle, you should want to classify them as "punk rock" and not "pop-punk".

Care to explain?

the consensus on the page was reached here[1].
well by posting somthing on your talk page it brought the issue away from an edit war, thats hardly vandalism.
in the article it says Years active 1992 – 2005 (on hiatus), meaning the band is not active, which correct english grammer would have the article in past tense(was) and not present tense(is).

Australian Baseball League[edit]

WikiProject Rock music invitation[edit]

Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.

I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Railway Line Guides[edit]

Hi Dan027. I noticed the line guides you put on the Healesville and Warburton railway line articles. They look good. Was that work based on some standard that's being encouraged? I think they would also be appropriate for other rail lines and I was planning to help out. I was wondering if you could point me to some sort of guide to using the codes for the line guide graphic images, etc. as couldn't find anything about how to use them on the railways project pages. gday, i noticed the line guide being used on the Victorian Goldfields Railway article afew days ago, i mostly self taught myself how to use the template by reading over Wikipedia:Railway line template, im not sure if there is a standard to using the template ive just been looking over railway maps at Vicsig.net and using [www.street-directory.com.au]. i plan on slowly working through all the lines in Victoria over the coming months, your more then welcome to help out, cheers mate. --Dan027 08:39, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
G'day, the Wikipedia:Railway line template is precisely what I was after. Thanks for that. I did think your work looked suspiciously Vicsig and Melway inspired! :) I must say I did have one concern about the Healesville line guide and the apparent need to include every drain and flood plain bridge. Makes for a very long diagram! I wonder, given the scope of the article, if they are all necessary. Maybe one or two with a label "numerous bridges" or something similar would be enough. Thanks for uploading Image:AustralianProvincial.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. Matt Tilley Accusations[edit]

Hello Dan027, I have posted a reply to Lakeyboy on his userpage which you may want to look at. I had no idea that the edits I did would cause such an uproar. This is my fault entirely, as had I looked at the history of the page, I would have seen there have been numerous edit wars on this page. Nonetheless, I take cumbrance with you falsely attributing edits to me on the talk page of Matt Tilley. Please remove the unsigned comment addition which you made, as I did not make any such comment. I have total confidence that if you examine the IP Addresses and/or history of the page you will find I made no such edit.

The comments you made, accusing me of vandalism of the page, are inflammatory and unnecessary. I have attempted to maintain good faith at all times on wikipedia, however I resent the accusation that I made abusive edits when I categorically did not. When I made the edits, I clearly did each one separately in order to make all the dead-link removals obvious and to avoid looking as though I was ripping the article apart with no justification. I then posted explanations on both the talk section of the page, and Lakeyboy's talk page. If you doubt this, then please examine the history of the pages.

Wikipedia is in a continual state of change, with pages being updated and improved (for the most part) all the time, assuming bad-faith in the way you did with regard to my edits is counter-productive and discourages people from editing. I will not re-edit Matt Tilley and will be interested to see whether you remove the dead links or leave them there, it may well be a good indicator of who the real vandal is here.

Image:Reds3.gif[edit]

Hello Dan027, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Reds3.gif) was found at the following location: User:Dan027/TestPage1. License tagging for Image:Sydneymetrosdesign.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sydneymetrosdesign.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
