[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Alexnia (talk) 13:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image talk:MaryAnneHobbsOnDecks.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image talk:MaryAnneHobbsOnDecks.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image talk:MaryAnneHobbsOnDecks.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. File copyright problem with File:Stan_Gooch.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Stan_Gooch.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris 00:37, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- All you need to do is add {{PD-self}}, {{GFDL-self}} or {{Attribution}} depending on your license preference (there's heaps of other license tags you can add here) --Chris 12:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed. --Chris 13:08, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Stan Gooch
[edit]An article that you have been involved in editing, Stan Gooch, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stan Gooch. Thank you.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Tim Vickers (talk) 21:26, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- It is listed since there seems to be a lack of reliable sources independent of the subject of the article that establish notability. If you can find some sources that fit this criteria, that would be great. Tim Vickers (talk) 16:39, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- You need to find sources independent of Gooch, like newspaper articles discussing him, reviews of his books, or academic papers discussing his ideas. Have a look at Simon Baron-Cohen to see a good example. These need to be published by publishers with a "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" and have undergone at least some editorial checking, so things on forums or self-published material isn't acceptable. I had a look for things like that myself, and couldn't find anything. Tim Vickers (talk) 15:02, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Stan Gooch.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Stan Gooch.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:34, 4 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:34, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
