License tagging for Image:Design Cade 4 members.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Design Cade 4 members.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:07, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Deleted page "Design cade"[edit]

A page you created, or image you uploaded, Design cade, has been deleted in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets the one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable notability guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content; it will be deleted again and may be protected from re-creation. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article. If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Minor misc places in arda[edit]

This pic can be deleted at any time under speedy delete criteria I3 - incompatible licenses. I know it seems strange, but Wikipedia cannot accept any images that are for Wikipedia use only, or non-commercial use only. It's against our image policy. You could ask the author to release one picture to GFDL, or you could tag the image as fair use. Let me know if you need help; I know this stuff is complicated. --Fang Aili talk 22:07, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could ask the author to release one to {{GFDL}}. The tag would read:
GFDL

Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with no Invariant Sections, no Front-Cover Texts, and no Back-Cover Texts.
Subject to disclaimers.

Or, you could re-upload it and tag it as {{fairuse}}. Let me know if you do that, and I'll help you write a rationale.
Getting the image released to GFDL is definitely the better of the 2 options. --Fang Aili talk 15:29, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Generic directions from Wikipedia:Copyright problems[edit]

Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia: If you submitted work to Wikipedia which you had previously published (especially online), and your submission was marked as a potential infringement of copyright, stating that you are the copyright holder of the work on the article's talk page helps, but will not likely prevent deletion. It is sufficient to either:

  • Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.
So, you could ask the author to make a note at her website saying that such-and-such picture is released to GFDL. Or, if she releases it via e-mail, send a copy of that email to the address above. Make sense? You can upload the picture yourself. --Fang Aili talk 17:33, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, go ahead and upload. :) --Fang Aili talk 19:14, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
