Pending changes protection
[edit]Hello Mr. Catullo. Over the last few days I noticed that a I.P. (numbered) user was making edits on the Wikipedia page about you that we defamatory and Wikipedia has taken steps to keep this type of attack from continuing. Editors will now have to submit suggested edits on that page and a qualified reviewer must accept these edits, before the edit becomes public. If you care to read more about the process you can do so here: Wikipedia:Pending changes. Congrad's on the Oscar nomination for the Square btw...--WPPilot 17:32, 7 February 2014 (UTC)(talk)
- Thank you so much for your help. I did notice what was going on this week and I appreciate you taking notice. I am not too knowledgable with the Wikipedia system and was wondering how to handle this malicious attack from someone clearly out to harm my reputation and do harm to me and my family. --Daniel Catullo (talk) 19:32, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

OTRS Request
[edit]Hi, Mr. Catullo, allow me to explain something. Wikipedia has a policy about famous people who are editors. Mostly so that someone cannot pretend to be you or any other figure like President Obama. Normally the account is blocked until verification can be made, but there is no pressing need to right now. And to better address the issues, having you unblocked is probably for the better. So we just have to prove who you are so you won't be bugged about this or blocked later on.
- Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
- Please send an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles e-mail is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.
If you wish to leave messages on my talk page or here about the errors on your biographical article let me know. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 00:16, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
I just did that. I am awaiting a response from someone on the volunteer response team. Dan
- Oh, and you might want to read WP:COI as it covers conflicts of interest. I wouldn't go editing your own article. By any chance, did you edit under the username Dc3director? Some people believe that it was you or someone who worked with you. Just thought I'd ask. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 00:25, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 00:36, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Not sure if my other answer went through. Dc3director was my old publicist who hasn't worked for me in 2 years. Not sure why that was asked, but she used to use dc3director when she posted stuff about me or the company. I do not do mown postings on Wikipedia, nor do I have any one else doing such a thing. If someone has any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them directly. Thank you! Dan User:DanielCatullo
- Replied on my talk page again. And its four tildes in a row. Just like this: ~~~~ If you are reading this in the edit window, ignore the no wiki tags, those are just so that the page itself does not convert it to mark up and actually sign my signature with those four tildes. Whenever four tildes are done in succession, they will display your username and effectively sign your post with the time. You do not have to do anything more then that. Give it a shot, you will get used to it quickly. I used to sign my emails with four tildes when I am not paying attention. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 01:13, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Daniel Catullo, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Daniel Catullo! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
The talk page about you!
[edit]Hello Dan Catullo!
You might notice some chatter upon your Talk:Daniel_Catullo#COI talk page. I guess a user that looks to be from Japan has undertaken a conversation about it that really IMHO does not belong on it. Hijiri88 is the user and I suggest that you post a reply to his many comments upon HIS talk page. My only guess is that this user did not read the comments in the page itself, and I personally do not understand what this users objective is, so you might want to ask them yourself. I was rooting for the Square BTW and am sorry that the production did not get the Oscar it was great to watch. You are welcome to ask any questions here as well and I or someone will come around and try to answer your questions.. Cheers! WPPilot talk --WPPilot 04:21, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am unsure as to why there is so much heated debate on my page over things that really have nothing to do with me personally. To set the record straight, I do not have a personal relationship with anyone who has posted on my page and have only met WPPilot once really- when he came to my office to take pictures when my identity was being challenged back in 2012. We did briefly meet back in 2010 when I was leaving for Haiti on a relief mission, but there were 30 or so press people present and I really don't remember meeting him there (I had to be reminded when we met at my office over a year ago to take a photo). I appreciate everybody's comments and assistance in updating my page, but this seems like a strange forum to have these issues discussed. Please try to keep it professional and positive here guys. Does anybody need me to do anything here to help this situation out? I am not a experienced "Wikipedian" and am somewhat new to posting here, so I am not sure what to do, if anything at this point. Thank you! --Daniel Catullo (talk) 18:01, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Daniel Catullo
