Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Daniela Kroslak. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Uhai (talk) 20:20, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because the site is still under construction to add an important office holder to Wikipedia records

September 2023[edit]

Information icon

Hello Daniela Kroslak. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Daniela Kroslak. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Daniela Kroslak|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Uhai (talk) 21:31, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Uhai! Thank you for your message and due diligence. I am still a bit confused about the process. I was meaning to add an article on an important official public office holder. No conflict of interest, in the sense that I am not paid for writing an article but find it adequate to add a page on this public personality for review and hopefully public display. Now the sandbox content has been deleted, which seems difficult to understand as the interest of Wikipedia is to add encyclopedia content to its sites to serve the public in reading about key topics of interest. Grateful for additional advice. Katrin Wittig 2023 (talk) 21:52, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Katrin Wittig 2023: If you're her colleague then there's a conflict of interest. Please see the latest message I left you on my talk page. Uhai (talk) 22:04, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, Uhai. This procedure is now clearer. I am sorry. I am still very new to this. I will proceed with a Wikipedia:Requested articles entry. Would it be possible to access/transfer the previous sandbox draft? 197.155.145.13 (talk) 22:28, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can ask the deleting admin who I mentioned on my talk page. Please also remember to stay logged into your new account to reduce confusion, as I see you've posted this latest comment while logged out. Uhai (talk) 22:49, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
