License tagging for Image:Esig logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Esig logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:06, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected the tag for the license status of the eSignal logo Image:Esig logo.png per my best understanding of the Widipedia: Media copyright guidelines. I hope that it meets with your approval.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:ESignal10 screenshot.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ESignal10 screenshot.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:19, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:10 2 with Forex window.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:10 2 with Forex window.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:15, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've responded to your question about this. Thanks. ~ mazca t|c 22:26, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mazca: I posted a new screen shot for version 10.3 choosing yet another copyright designation I HOPE IS CORRECT. This time I used the choice for Public Domain because the screen shot is publicly available on the eSignal.com site in the Press Room section. However, I still cannot see your response to my original question even though you say you answered it. Where is your response to my question about the correct copyright for the original 10.2 screen shot, please? Daniellegs (talk) 23:46, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Daniellegs[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:10.3 Trading From Charts.png[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:10.3 Trading From Charts.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ViperSnake151 02:06, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for File:ESignal 11 2 screenshot.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ESignal 11 2 screenshot.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

I have corrected the version 11.2 eSignal screenshot by uploading it through Wikimedia Commons. I hope I did it correctly. I am part of the Marketing department for the eSignal suite of products for Interactive Data Corporation, and it's my responsibility to change the screen shot whenever we have a new release of the eSignal product (which we did this week). The screen shot is also available free (although the product itself is not free) in our Press Room on the website at: http://www.esignal.com/about/screenshots.aspx. Every time I change the screen shot, it seems the Wikipedia rules have changed. I hope this fix "fixes" the screen shot for this release. Daniellegs (talk) 20:08, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading free images/media to Wikipedia! As you may know, there is another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view previous uploads by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'file' namespace from the drop down box (or see [1]). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!
