Fair Use policy

In response to your comment about Image:Southampton FC.png, Wikipedia policy is reasonably detailed. The image in question has an appropriate fair use tag, but no rationale. Enforcement of the rationale policy has recently begun.

I invite you to add rationales to any football club logos or other fair use images that you find. I expect that validation of rationales will occur at some time in the future, so try to meet all of the criteria of a good rationale. A list of U2's other video releases can be found here. The band have returned from Fez, Morocco, working on their album. According to Adam, “There’s definitely an album in there.” Some possible songs include: “Mercy”, “If I Could Live My Life Again”, and “North Star”. U2's new film, U23D, is due for 3D theatre release later this year. The Republican National Committee has taken the first step to endorsing Bono’s ONE initiative, with a potential donation of 30 billion dollars in U.S. taxes. Their most recent song is a cover of the John Lennon song, Instant Karma! for the album Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur. All proceeds go to Amnesty International. They are Vero444 and MC. We now have 38 members! The Album It was released on November 2004. It was distributed by Island Records and Interscope in the U.S.A. The album was a critical and commercial success. It went to #1 in many countries and sold over 9 million copies worldwide. Bono described the album as "our first rock album. It's taken us twenty years or whatever it is, but this is our first rock album." The album deals with love, war, peace, harmony, and approaching death. The singles released from the album are: Vertigo, All Because of You, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, City of Blinding Lights and Original of the Species. More info from the album page here. From the Editors Welcome to the September Edition of the U2 WikiProject Newsletter. The theme for this newletter is "All That You Can't Leave Behind". We hope you enjoy reading it! New Members Our new members this month are Keeper76 and Jort227. We have now reached 40 members. The Album The album was released on October 30, 2000. It debuted at #1 in 28 countries and sold over 12 million copies worldwide. This album marked the end of U2's experimental phase in the 90's. However, they did not really return to their more traditional rock sound until How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Rolling Stone called it "U2's third masterpiece". The song "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" was written by Bono for his late friend, Michael Hutchence. On several occasions the band said that they were "re-applying for the job of the best band in the world" with this album. The singles released from the album are: Beautiful Day, Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of, Walk On and Elevation. Take a look at the All That You Can't Leave Behind article for more info.

List of Southampton F.C. players

Hi - I'm trying to extend the List of Southampton F.C. players to include players from 1885 to 1939 as well as post-war players. As far as notability goes, I intend to stick with the 100 games/30 goals concept. But what about players who played in the 2 FA Cup finals in 1900 & 1902, or were Southern League champions 6 times from 1897 to 1904. Then there's the 1921-22 season when they were 3rd Division South champions as well as other promotions. Where do we stop?

I therefore plan to remove players from the existing list who are only there because of their involvement in the 1966 or 1978 promotion seasons e.g. Campbell Forsyth and Mike Pickering, but leave the 1976 FA Cup winning squad (obviously). What about the 2003 FA Cup final squad (Michael Svensson and Chris Baird) - are they sufficiently notable? If so, how are they better (ignoring recentism) than those from 1900 and 1902?

I think the article should perhaps also have a section for Saints players who played for their countries whilst on Saints' books e.g. C. B. Fry. Let me know what you think. U2 News On September 28, Bono was jointly awarded the Philadelphia Liberty Medal along with DATA. The medal is awarded to recognize leadership in the pursuit of freedom. Three U.S. Presidents, Nelson Mandela, Viktor Yushchenko, Colin Powell and Kofi Annan are among those who have been awarded it. In his acceptance speech, Bono spoke of those who don't have their liberty and urged Americans to keep working to solve the world's problems. More info here. U23D, U2's upcoming movie, will not be released until early next year. U2's recent biography, U2 By U2, is now available in paperback in the U.S. The 20th anniversary edition of The Joshua Tree will be released soon; the bonus content includes the Red Hill Mining Town video, often sought by fans. Project News Larry Mullen has reached Good Article status! Our first piece of featured content; List of U2 awards is completed. Where the Streets Have No Name is our latest GA. Member News There were no new members this month. Did You Know? Bono is the only person to have been nominated for an Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe, and Nobel Peace Prize.	From the Editors Welcome to the November edition of the WikiProject U2 Newsletter. This month's theme is Zooropa, one of U2's most experimental albums. We hope you enjoy reading it! New Members The Album Zooropa was released on July 6, 1993. This album, along with Pop, is considered one of U2's most experimental. It was originally slated to be an EP, but expanded into an LP. It was recorded in between legs on the Zoo TV Tour. Zooropa features a rare lead singing performance by The Edge, on the song Numb. The names of three unfinished songs from the recording sessions -"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", "If You Wear That Velvet Dress", and "Wake Up Dead Man"- appear superimposed on the cover; "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" was used in the Batman Forever soundtrack, and "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" and "Wake Up Dead Man" were included on 1997's "Pop". "Numb" was released in an unlikely format as the first "video single"; the "Numb" video is thought of as one of U2's best. "Some Days are Better Than Others" is the only track to have never been played live. The singles from Zooropa are "Numb", "Lemon", and "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"

Re: Southampton

While conventions are not set in stone, there should be a very good reason for not abiding by them in the cases where an exception is necessary. The convention was established by consensus, and there is no consensus, either on the Southampton talk page or on the naming convention talk page, to use anything different. If you change the pages back to ", Southampton" it will be you who is going against consensus, as well as engaging in an edit war. Waggers (talk) 10:36, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

ROI football

I don’t think it is necessary to mention how many counties are in the Republic or repeat info that is in infobox e.g. Croke Park. The Republic of Ireland article itself explains the geography. The team is referred to as the Republic of Ireland to distinguish it from both the Ireland national football team (IFA) and the Northern Ireland national football team. Your edit also removes the link to the article England v Ireland (1949). Changes in the teams name and teams achievements should be included in opening para. These can be explained in more detail further down the article. Djln

Hi - it's good to see you back. I think you'll find that your recent edit was not quite correct. According to the official site, Rupert Lowe is chairman of Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC and Michael Wilde is chairman of the football club. Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
