Danny, I have removed talk page access. If you wish to appeal this block going forward, you may email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or submit a request for unblock to the Unblock Ticket Request System. Finally, you have the right to appeal this block to the Ban appeals sub-committee. WormTT(talk) 16:17, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Block note[edit]

I have provided Dannyboy1209 information regarding standard offer via UTRS. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 01:49, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dannyboy1209 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. TBrandley 21:11, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is he socking through an account or an IP? We should probably put that information in an SPI just so it is archived, it makes catching future socks easier. Ryan Vesey 12:26, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • And apparently again today. I've blocked the IP for one week. According to Geolocate, it's a static IP, so someone more familiar with this case could make the block longer.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:46, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Ban Appeals Subcommittee has considered your appeal, and decided to unblock you under the terms of Wikipedia's standard offer. You are unblocked under the following conditions:

  • For three months from the date of this message, if you (in the opinion of an uninvolved administrator) edit in a disruptive manner, you may be summarily, indefinitely reblocked with no further warning.

Block restored[edit]

Danny, since your block has been lifted, the only edits I can see are three nonsensical questions and conversations at various reference desks. Edits such as this are clearly disruptive. Frankly, I cannot tell if this is deliberate trolling, or simply an acute lack of situational awareness. As per your unblock conditions, I have reinstated the indefinite block until you can convince some other administrator that you are here for some reason other than to troll editors donating time at the reference desk. Request reason:

I legitimately had monetary issues back on the reference desk. I came across as bitter, as being an airline pilot was a childhood dream of mines and I got confused with the logic. I was thinking that I couldn't get the money for flight school without this job and that without flight training, I couldn't get the job and therefore not have the money. Please unblock. drt2012 (talk) 17:42, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This unblock request says nothing about what you intend to do on Wikipedia if unblocked. This is not the place to act out any money issues you may have, or any bitterness issues, for that matter. This is an encyclopedia. What encyclopedic editing do you plan to do in the future if you're unblocked? How do you plan to avoid disruptive editing such as you've engaged in in the past? A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 18:03, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to edit more constructively and update local articles. drt2012 (talk) 19:58, 17 November 2013 (UTC) Restore my userpage please drt2012 (talk) 19:53, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Can I please be unblocked, I wish to edit local articles and articles pertaining to things I like. I don't think repeatedly blocking me is trying to achieve anything. I think I need another mentor as part of the adoption service you provide. I still wish to become an admin and I heavily struggle with wiki code and need a lot of help with it from someone. Please find it in your heart to unblock me so I can continue to try and improve my behaviour. I think blocking someone for asking a question at the reference desk is unacceptable and should not be permitted. Due to my Aspergers and my immaturity, my replies seemed slightly rude and I apologise for this. Please teach me wiki code and guide me to becoming an administrator. All I need is a little bit of help, not being ignored and shoved aside like this. drt2012 (talk) 13:45, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You say, "I don't think repeatedly blocking me is trying to achieve anything." Indeed, I think the opposite is true; I see no evidence that repeatedly unblocking you has had any tangible benefit to this project, and I see no reason to do so now. --Kinu t/c 01:08, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

3rd (and 4th) unblock request[edit]

Request reason:

Please can I be unblocked? I have not socked in a long time. I would like to say that I think that the reference desk is useful. I did not intend to come across as angry. Due to my Aspergers, I found it difficult to control my emotions at the time. however, I think I have grown up from that now and would like to go back to editing articles. The problem is, that I find it difficult to understand certain parts of wiki code. I would like some assistance in the matter. Also, I would like to be put forward for mentor ship, so that I could be mentored by a more experienced user. I wish to eventually have administrator status. I have never liked your blocking system. It seems to contradict your "anyone" can edit system. I think more should be done to get to the root of the problem and keep me from repeating past incidents. Even if you need to unblock someone, using an indefinite block is a bit extreme. Perhaps the maximum block should only be 6 months or 1 year. Wikipedia policies are widely debated and perhaps if I get higher up, I could help with them a bit. All I ask is that you start at the first step, which would be to remove the block. I also dream of creating my own adoption system, so I can mentor other editors. So, when I am 30, and I am a airline pilot, and when I have beaurocrat and administrator statuses, I want you to realise that you helped me on my way by not keeping me blocked for so long. I know I have been doing wrong, but I can also do right. If you have any questions to ask me, please state them below this request. Thank you for your time and such an amazing collaborative effort giving so much information. drt2012 (talk) 13:28, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I don't think you've really given good reasons to unblock you here. Most of your comments are about how you'll come in and try to change major Wikipedia policies/guidelines because you haven't gotten your way in the past. Nothing in here suggests you've learned/modified your behavior. "I think more should be done to get to the root of the problem and keep me from repeating past incidents." An indefinite block makes sure you don't repeat past incidents. only (talk) 15:20, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Airline pilots are much too overworked (www.naturalnews.com/039310_airline_pilots_work_stress_safety.html [unreliable fringe source?][1][2][3]) to have time to carry out the duties of a Wikipedia bureaucrat or administrator. You will need to choose either being an airline pilot or being a Wikipedia functionary, not both at the same time. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 15:17, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I don't know if you're trying to be funny, Demiurge1000, but I will only edit wikipedia at most once or twice a week. Also, to Only, even of you were qualified to reject unblock requests, I don't think that you have read mines properly. I mention Aspergers, mentor ship and I clearly also said that I have grown up from past incidents, implying that I will not do them any more and in effect rendering the block useless. I want you to think a bit more before making a decision. I will also be thinking a lot more about my wikipedia stuff too. I do not intend to alter policies to get my own way, but instead to improve wikipedia. I request that questions and comments are placed below this request. Please give a more detailed explanation to the result of this unblock request. drt2012 (talk) 15:39, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Having Asperger's does not make you any special, you are still expected to follow all our policies so it's not a reason to unblock you. Mentorship is indeed an idea to consider in cases like yours, but at that point there's no indication whatosever that mentoring you will result in anything but spending metor's (and others') time on something other than encyclopedic work. Looking at your behavior, I see no indication that you've matured since your original block and because you've already made a few unblock requests (last of which also contains an attack against Only), I see no option but revoke your talk page access. It's not infinite and will expire in 1 year - you can make another request then. Max Semenik (talk) 17:19, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
