Hi, I'd also like a copy of the spreadsheet to save me from having to extract all the same info from the linked page. Please could you mail it to me at csjo at swan.ac.uk ? Many thanks in advance for saving me the time! :)

Hello, I too would like a copy of the spreadsheet. Please send it to rush_jamese@hotmail.com. Thanks so much. Jim

Hello, I would like the spreadsheet for a project that I am doing on. It'll be great if you can send that spreadsheet to me at phelan_aka_nexus@hotmail.com. Thanks alot. Hanes.

Would like to have the XL sheet on storage devices please. Use email account tim.gatton@gmail.com. thanks.

Please send me the spreadsheet as well. email jkominek@cs.cmu.edu. I might help out with a second version of the graph. By the way, last year I attended a lunch/talk with Krdyer (of Kryder's law) as one of the speakers. Should have asked him at the time for historical data! Hello, I would like a copy of the Excel spreadsheet as well: chris@pearsonmail.com. Thanks a bunch!

Hello -- I would also like a copy of the spreadsheet for a story I am writing. dconnor@nww.com

Hey, there: along with everyone and their mothers, I would like to play with those data, if possible. Could you possibly email me at hamilton.ulmer@gmail.com with it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.12.110.249 (talk) 09:30, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was wondering if you could also provide me with a copy of the spreadsheet used, I not only would like to use it for a statistics project but also maybe update the image (as you stated you would like) email: webmaster@ionno.dreamhosters.com Thanks! --Ctrlfreak13 23:53, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've updated the Kryder's Law article a bit. I think it should show your graph, but also the areal density growth. Right now, it's just on the Moore's Law article. I'd suggest there needs to be a knee in the curve about 1992. See what you get for best fit on the before and after data. Thanks, LeadSongDog 17:19, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm also interested in the Excel spreadsheet: broughturner@gmail.com . Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Broughturner (talkcontribs) 13:08, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on a presentation and would like to include this data. Could you e-mail me the spreadhsheet with the data to brianall@usc.edu Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.106.89.214 (talk) 05:27, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stub graphic[edit]

Dantheox, regarding the first stub graphic here, there doesn't seem to be any legend for the graph. It's easy enough to figure out from the context of the article, but if you have the data already, I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to just update the image. Whatever can be done would be great. Cheers and happy editing! --Kchase02 (T) 03:37, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you created Chebyshev function. While I study science and engineering, I'm not familar with the function. But does it have anything to do with Chebyshev's inequality or Bertrand's postulate? Bertrand's postulate seems to have a good deal to do with Chebyshev function. If the two are the same, you should merge your new info and create a redirect from the article you created into the existing one. Kevin_b_er 07:33, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, just checking because I couldn't tell if they were the same or not. Didn't want to confuse people with multiple pages about the same thing. Kevin_b_er 07:41, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Compact version of Template:16TeamBracket?[edit]

Hi,

Would it be possible if you could make a compact version of the Template:16TeamBracket (like you did for Template:32TeamBracket at Template:32TeamBracket-Compact), at Template:16TeamBracket-Compact?

Thanks! - Nick C 17:08, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for making the brackets! Finally could you make compact versions for Template:8TeamBracket and Template:4TeamBracket (I need to use them for tennis tournaments) Thanks! - Nick C 17:27, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm using them for the qualifiying rounds where the route to qualification is different, if you know what I mean. - Nick C 17:34, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If I understand it correctly, you wanted me to add something similar to the "score-width" parameter you added to Template:32TeamBracket-Compact [2]

So here is the change I made: [3]

Two-legged brackets[edit]

I was wondering if you knew how to/could make brackets for two-legged soccer ties, as in the UEFA Champions League or the CONCACAF Champions' Cup ... penalty shootouts are one variable that would make it difficult, but otherwise it should be a simple bracket like the 2006 College World Series bracket. It would be very useful to streamline lengthy explanations of two-legged tournaments. Probably would only need 16-team (UCL, Copa Libertadores) and 8-team (CCC) versions. Also, who is this? 2007 Aussie Open[edit]

Hey there, I re-added the Final 16 draw to 2007 Australian Open - Men's Singles. I was hesitant adding it as it is unlike the past tourneys, but decided to since Wikipedia’s message seems to be be bold.  ;) I like seeing the separate draws merged sooner because it allows a better picture of the whole draw in the final 16, rather than just the quarters. I’m not looking to get into an edit-war, I’m just pointing out what I think. I have no qualms with your point of view in retaining just the quarters in the finals section as in previous slams. Feel free to switch it back or retain the change, no worries. It’d be nice to put the Final 16 on the main page to show Men’s and Women’s with a few more names still on the brackets. As I said it’s my opinion, and likely of a few other Wikipedians, just as your view is shared by others. Feel free to drop me a note and I look forward to working on some more tennis article with you. Take care, mate! Captain Courageous 12:24, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:GorgeAmphitheater.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GorgeAmphitheater.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 01:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

National Championships[edit]

Should you perhaps change these to say "U.S. National Tennis Championships?" There are other championships with that name. JHMM13 04:33, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe these articles should have Tennis in the title. I hope you agree. Thanks, JHMM13 04:57, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Australian Championships confusing? (reply)[edit]

The confusing tag was removed from the 1936 page. Was rather hasty in the tag, though. It was added since it wasn't immediately apparent what sport the list article referred to. However closer look at the category and main article identify the sport. But as suggested in the talk item immediately above, the titles could be renamed to indicate this is about tennis, in case it needs distinction from other types of championships. (Year) Australian Championships[edit]

Hi there. I have just seen at Wikipedia:New articles (Australia) your series of article relating to the Tennis championships. I really think you should move all of these articles to a name which includes "Tennis" in it. Clearly, it is quite likely that there are or have been Australian Championships for something - I am guessing Athletics, but also Swimming and Cycling.

Secondly, your series of articles make no attempt to meet the requirements of WP:ATTRIBUTION - that is they do not provide a source for the information regarding winner / runner up. Could you please add source details to each article.

Thanks,Garrie 02:50, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding sourcing: linking back to an unsourced article would not be any help, because an unreferenced list would be ripe for being deleted. It seems you have an interest in tennis, doesn't the Association of Tennis Professionals publish any of these results? or the covering media?Garrie 04:55, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping you would get someone to use a bot to move these by now based on the comment you left on my talk page?Garrie 04:44, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's nice to know you: I'm a tennis writer of Japanese Wikipedia since November 2004. Yesterday, I wrote Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tennis for the first time. I've contacted three tennis writers of English Wikipedia (Tennis expert, twice from his huge talkpage // Zaxem and HJensen). I found two marvelous writers from Tennis Project talk, you and Spyder Monkey. About Australian Championships, I found the best source, their official book!! "Our Open: 100 years of Australia's Grand Slam", published in 2004. I gained it from an eBay auction. Complete drawsheets, detailed history -- very faschinating book. I'm studying Australian Opens 1977, January and December events. My articles in Japanese, not only final results, but also progress (QF -> SF -> Final) and historical background information. I hope, book information may help you. My best regards. --Hhst 10:23, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've done a huge amount of work on tennis articles - and know vastly more about the sport than I do. Could you help with Disambiguation link repair? There are a lot of tennis links which point to [[Roger Taylor]] but which should point to [[Roger Taylor (tennis)]]. I've fixed most of the ones which should point to the other Roger Taylors (mainly drummers), but don't know enough about tennis to be sure that there weren't other Roger Taylors playing tennis as well as the famous one, and don't want to accidently point people to the wrong person. Non-free use disputed for Image:KTRU-Logo.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:KTRU-Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for wider input on discussion at WikiProject Tennis[edit]

Hi, there is an extremely long and muddled discussion going on at WP:Tennis about the tournament tables found on tennis player articles (i.e. this type of table), and I'm notifying you as you identified yourself as a member of the project. The dispute is over the "Tournament Name" column, with the options being to either use the "sponsored tournament name" - in other words, the name involving the sponsor, for example Internazionali BNL d'Italia - or the "non-sponsored tournament name" - in other words, Rome Masters. I appreciate that this conversation is very long and convoluted, so a brief summary can be found here, which is also where I request the discussion continues. Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for Campus Ambassadors in Houston[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you are listed as a Wikipedian connected with Rice University. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at another Houston school, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you live in Houston and you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone else from the area who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:37, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:32, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you might want to know about some upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, extending functionality with JavaScript, the future of ResourceLoader and Gadgets, the new Lua templating system, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the Chennai event in March, the Berlin hackathon in June, the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC, or any other of our events.
