Formats of Python docstrings

Several formats are available for writing docstrings[1]. The main formats are reStructured Text, Numpydoc, Google style and Epytext style. These formats can be parsed by tools (like Sphinx or Epydoc) to generate formatted documentation for the web. It is also possible to convert Python docstrings to a specific format or generate skeletons[2]
