Adoption[edit]

Hello, Dariuspomaha! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia!

In case you are no more interested in being adopted, let me know. Cheers!

Hi again and welcome to the Adopt-a-User program! To start with you could replace the {{adoptoffer|Pvd21}} template I recently put into your userpage with this {{adoptee|Pvd21}}, to signify that you are indeed my adoptee. In addition, I would recommend you take some time and think about the areas you would like to contribute on wikipedia, whether those would be in certain projects, articles you find interesting etc. and I will be more than happy to teach you it's basic aspcects and help you familiarize with it. If you are yet unsure, I can propose tasks for you to do as to begin with, just let me know your interests and I shall guide you through. As I have told you before I am open to any of your questions/inquiries you have on Wikipedia. Bye for now.

Flash/Java[edit]

Hi Darius! About your idea, flash and java content is not yet permitted by the technical administrators. I had the same question as you a few months ago (take my archived talk page as an example) and I came to the conclusion with other members of wikipedia that such content is not allowed because it could restrict people, who have text-browsers for example, from taking full advantage of this website. I agree that flash and java would as you said "add a new level to articles" but current administrators are focusing on making a site on people's requirements and not vice versa. In addition, messing with flash content in such a site where there are hundrends of contributions to a single article would not make flash editing easy. Flash .swf files on the other hand are not editable which means that anyone who wishes to change the content inside will not be able to. I admire your curiosity and excitement but your idea to make this site more let's say "modern" is not allowed, yet! Pvd21 talk|contrib 12:37, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
