June 2009[edit]

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Fuel (film) worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. tedder (talk) 01:35, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I made two edits that I believe may have had me mistakenly blocked. 1: I removed Robbie Little from the list of producers on the FUEL (film). His credit was actually "Executive Producer" not "Producer" and he was rightly removed by me. see imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1294164/fullcredits. 2. I revised the removal of Rebecca Harrell being credited with having her song "Drive" shortlisted for an Academy Award. Administrator Paul A removed incorrectly removed it saying that it was not shortlisted. Please see Rolling Stone article: http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/12/17/springsteen-mia-jenny-lewis-short-listed-for-best-song-oscar/ where they highlight 7 of the 49 shortlisted songs, then click the link to view the complete list of shortlisted song - among which is Harrell's song Drive.

Decline reason:

You're not directly blocked - if you are unable to edit, please follow the instructions below for further investigation. Thank you!

Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
  3. If you are still blocked, copy the {{unblock-ip|...}} code generated for you under the "IP blocked?" section. This is usually hidden within the "What do I do now?" section. If so, just click the "[show]" link to the right hand side to show this text.
  4. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.

If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. Hersfold (t/a/c) 18:58, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Thatcher contacted for further comment, please await his response. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 02:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Someone is going to have to navigate the proper templates for me, they seem to have gotten much more complicated. IP block exemption granted, however this is an alternate account of Fuelthefilm (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) (which already has IPBE. There are a number of potential problems here. First, alternate accounts are discouraged, and are not permitted to edit the same articles, thus giving a false impression that different independent people are editing. See the policy on sockpuppets. Second, if you are connected with Fuel (film) then you have a conflict of interest; editing is not prohibited but is advised against, see the conflict of interest policy. You should really only be using one account to edit. I'll leave it to Jayron or another admin to decide what to do, options include blocking one or both accounts but this can probably be avoided if you agree to use only one account and stop using the other. • I would concur that only one account should be used to edit Wikipedia, and I am going to block the Fuelthefilm account (soft block) since its name clearly represents a commercial interest, and the account itself is connected to someone promoting that commercial interest, a clear violation of our username policy. Feel free to continue to edit Wikipedia with this account, which has a compliant username, with the caveat that you should be careful to abide by our conflict of interest guidelines. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 03:11, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Also, since it appears that Thatcher has granted the IP Block Exemption to this account, I have commented out the unblock request. You should be free to edit with this account. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 03:18, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
