Speedy deletion[edit]
Thank you for your message. A speedy deletion notice isn't an insult nor a comment nor a reflection on your contribution to wikipedia. Things like this happen. Many speedy deletion notices are put on articles every single day, and often the deletion is turned down which is exactly what happened in this instance. An article I work on a lot had a deletion notice last week, but I dealt with it by discussing it with others, not insulting and having a go at the user who placed the notice. Whilst I can understand your dissapointment, the article is not going to be deleted anyway. There is no need for your insult and sarcasm. Please see WP:NPA. Might I suggest that you have a read of these articles which might help you get used to editing and creating articles on wikipedia - WP:BETTER, WP:HOW and WP:VER. An insult is when you call someone a name. See DICTIONARY:Insult. Now you can forget about all your little wikinyms. They don't work on me. Leave me alone. I quit.
With respect, this "What do you do, tangerines, just wait for new articles so you can delete them." is hardly friendly, it wasclearly sarcastic and is insulting. And yes users do patrol newly created articles, it is common policy to do so on wikipedia. As I pointed out to you above, I have had tags placed on articles and have just dealt with it which is by far the best way to deal with it. If you have only just joined wikipedia then you are diving into the deep end way, way too soon. You would have been better having a go at finding out how wikipedia works; use the sandbox and the tutorial, rather than the first thing being to create an article. As I have also pointed out the article has not been deleted, the speedy deletion was turned down. Hundreds of articles get speedy deletion notices, some mistakes are made putting them on too. It may not be friendly, but it's not an insult. Look at the edit history, you were adding the delete tag at the same time I was editing the article. It gave me an error message that I was editing/saving a page that was already being edited. Then I saw the the db-context tag which looks like a record lock to me. DB usually means database. So there was no visual cue that there was a marker for deletion. So, I took it out, and continued to edit my content. It looks like you can't really do online editing because of the speed at which the wiki policy enforcement comes by and adds delete or who knows what else tags. Further, you might find it useful to look at how long a user has been active and how old an article is before adding the tag. If you want new users that is.
Seems like my time could have been spent better by editing the article as I was doing instead of learning this tag system. I thought Wiki was a place to be BOLD! No? Sorry.
