Copyedit tags

Hi. Thanks for tagging articles for copyediting; however, in the real world (with nearsighted people like me :-)) the {{Copy edit-inline}} tag isn't used much because it's almost impossible for a copyeditor to find. It's better to use the {{Copy edit-section}} tag, which is easier to see. Also, please use the date parameter on the tag so it will be properly categorized (by date). Long Term Effects of Alcohol

Thank you for your interest in the effect of alcohols on worms. This effect in increasng longevity is interesting but deserves only minor comment in this article which is really focused on alcohol effects in humans. Mention of this effect seems fine if it is brief. That worms are used as models for longevity is worth mentioning. The genetic similarity of C elegans with humans is listed as 40%. There is mention of this in a Cold Spring Harbor webpage which briefly discusses C elegans. First I'm not sure this particular number is important, and second I had trouble finding an actual scientific article stating this. Does this realy need to be in an article about the long term (human health) effects of ethanol? Really? EtherDoc (talk) 05:34, 8 March 2013 (UTC) Is your research in genetics or molecular biology?

    No. This is more irrelevant text.  I have noticed that many of your contributions to other articles have been removed.  Please keep additions relevant and concise.  I don't care if worms genes are 40% similar to humans.  The article "Long-term effect of alcohol" pertains to humans.  The extent to which worm genes are similar to humans (and I'm not sure this is accurate anyway) is irrelevant.
     I am a physician with a background in biochemistry.  Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and should read like one.  It is not necessary to include all random facts one finds on the Internet into every article.  I have tried hard to summarize and remove many of the poorly written sections of this article.  Lets keep each article concise. If you have some particular area of expertise then your contributions can be helpful.  I don't believe human physiology or medicine is within your particular area of expertise. The "dietary reference intake" is completely irrelevant also. If alcohol has effects on human longevity, then it is appropriate to briefly mention it and provide valid references where these claims can be found.EtherDoc (talk) 13:56, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Alcohol use among college students

Hi, David! First, I apologize for nominating this article for deletion too early. I agree with you that it is justified for Alcohol use among college students to exist. However, I think you do need to, at least, rewrite the paragraph under Social stigma section, because it is exactly the same as part of the second paragraph in Alcoholic beverage (this is the reason why I want to delete this article in the first place.) Adoption tag

Hi David. I noticed that you put the User Adoption tag on your page. Although I'm not on Wikipedia often enough these days to do a good job at new user adoption, I'm happy to provide a few simple points of guidance:

  • Spend a couple of months making simple edits to any of the 4,187,041 articles here before starting to create new articles.
  • When you want to move an article (meaning re-titled the page) it is good etiquette to discuss the move on the article's talk page first.
  • Use an automatic spell check in your browser. Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome both have excellent spellcheckers.
