Seorak[edit]

Sure, if the article is approved, I'll see what I can do. Keep in mind that it may be harder to find reliable sources on Seorak than for BoA, but I will do my best. Also, do you read Korean? I don't, so if you do, you could get articles etc. from reliable sources (what is a reliable source?) and post translations on the talk page and I'll work with those or whatever's available. Cheers!   • Well, you said she's a close friend, so is the picture one you took yourself? Wikipedia encourages the use of free images rather than ones taken by professional media for things like album covers etc. If the picture is your own work, then you can upload it yourself (click on "Upload File"; it should be on the left of the page under "Toolbox") and license it under a free license, like Creative Commons or something. Until the article is approved, the page should remain a redirect; blank pages confuse our readers and take up space. Clearly the redirect was placed there for a reason. If this article gets approved, it'll need a hatnote at the top pointing readers to the mountain range as well. Please do not blank the page again. GlassCobra 08:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Re: Notability of Seorak[edit]

The article looks fine to me (her accomplishments certainly look noteworthy to me), but maybe the reviewer didn't pass the article because it lacked inline citations? (Inline citations look like this: "On the night of April 10, 1965, Mrs. Mabel Anne McGillicuddy was attacked by Frank Sutton with a rubber club.[1]")

See that little 1 in the box? That's an inline citation. What you have is a list of citations, which is fine in some academic situations, but Wikipedia prefers the use of inline citations for legal reasons, especially when it comes to biographies of living people. For example, what if Frank Sutton read the Wikipedia article, and he really didn't attack Mrs. McGillicuddy with a rubber club? Now, since the sentence wasn't specifically backed up (there were only a list of citations), and he decided to sue?[2]

But I digress. A good rule of thumb is to put an inline citation (which is essentially a link to a website or citing the page of a book, magazine, etc. as proof) after any sentence dealing with chart positions/sales, anything that's not general knowledge (like, you probably wouldn't put one after "Tuesday comes after Monday"), and any statement that might be controversial. For example, if my sentence read "Celine Dion's newest album peaked at #x on the Billboard Charts", I would probably cite a page on the Billboard website that would prove that the album peaked at #x.
