Blue Star wicca article[edit]

Who I am doesn't matter, and, if you were familiar with wikipedia policy, you would know that it is reliable sources that matter, not personal identification, and personal recollections. The information you continue to add has no reliable sources, and will continue to be removed as vandalism.--Vidkun (talk) 14:13, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For starters, i recommend you read the links you were given above, especially

which should give you a link to the policy which says your own claim isn't a valid source.--Vidkun (talk) 14:22, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm familiar enough to know about edit wars, and that's what you're trying to pull. I don't particularly care that you don't like the real history of Blue Star Witchcraft. And, I wouldn't take any recommendations from somebody who won't reveal who s/he is. Dcande01 (talk) 15:28, 3 November 2008 (UTC) 15:27, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you go look at no personal attacks because that is what your continued insistence on knowing who I amounts to - you are attempting to discredit my request that you follow wikipedia policy by trying to say I don't know anything about you or your history, because I won't identify myself. It's not an edit war - it's you refusing to abide by policy here.--Vidkun (talk) 15:43, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Call it anything that you like. Policy also dictates that articles can be edited by anyone. If you do not choose to verify through third-party sources, that's not my problem, either. Dcande01 (talk) 16:20, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am getting involved here due to a request for a neutral third party comment... Dcande, while it is true that anyone can edit, they need to follow the various policies and guidelines while they do so. These policies and guidelines limit what you can add. In your current dispute, the relevant policy pages are WP:Verification and WP:No original research. In essence they both say that you can not add information based upon your own personal knowledge. You need to cite a source. Blueboar (talk) 17:05, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure that one of us will be able to write an article similar to Cat's. Dcande01 (talk) 14:48, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:COS and WP:SPS, as well as wp:point as it seems you have just stated an intent to circumvent NOR policy in order to have your way an have your opinion published as if it is fact. The articles which are cited in this wikipedia article are cited to establish information which isn't contested. Your claim regarding Many Third Degree Blue Star Witches reject the name change from Witchcraft to Wicca and refuse to call themselves anything but Blue Star Witches as well as who holds the original traditions, are opinions of the nature of No true Scotsman, and are likely to fail the verifiability test.--Vidkun (talk) 15:26, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
