Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yellow River Map, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tian Wen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Quan Tangshi

Hi Dcattel;

Quick question on Quan Tangshi to ask if you are planning any more work on it. I have some notes to put in to raise it from stub status, but don't want to mess if you are going to do something. Or I could go ahead and you could cast your careful eye on my stuff. Cheers, ch (talk) 18:39, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi, ch please do go ahead and work on Quan Tangshi! I'm currently looking at some Ming-Qing transition poetry related stuff, including the Qing interest in the Chinese literary tradition; however, I have no especial plan to work on with Quan Tangshi. I will be looking forward towards seeing your improvements to it! Cheers, Dcattell (talk) 18:54, 25 June 2014 (UTC) 18:52, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks again for work on this article and for creating it in the first place. I used the QTS as an abbreviation, but maybe this is not necessary in such a short article. But before I take it out, I thought I'd ask if you have more plans and a need for the ChTS abbreviation. If so, it makes sense to leave the abbreviations in. Otherwise, maybe there's no need for QTS or for readers to know what is used in one (terrific) book, and without looking for other abbreviations in other works. I'm also going to add a little more comparing it to earlier and later anthologies and also a little more from the Kroll article explaining why there are so many Tang poems (although, as you know, not so many as in Song and later dynasties. Cheers in any case! ch (talk) 16:44, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
You are correct that the "ChTS" reference appears as somewhat of a disruption, in the context of this section. However, I edit articles mostly on the basis of what I information I would look for in an article; and, ChTS is of encyclopedic value. If you read some of the literature, such as Schafer, who is hardly outdated; then, mapping "ChTS" to Quan Tangshi is the sort of thing one might find of encyclopedic value. It is not self-evident that "ChTS" is an acronym for Quan Tangshi (neither is "QTS", for that matter). Part of the reason I got interested in Wikipedia articles on Chinese poetry literature was trying to figure out if two authors were referring to the same person or subject or not (and this is often still the case)! But, perhaps this is what infoboxes are for. On another aspect of the article, I thought your pointing out the divisions of the QTS anthology into sections was quite on the mark. Indeed, the article could perhaps benefit from a little more in this direction; for example, in regard to the remarkable way in which women authors were classified! (I have a reference for it some where, but please don't wait for me to continue improving the article!). I can work on an infobox. Anyway, thank you so much for your excellent work to improve this important article, Dcattell (talk) 19:45, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:42, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Ways to improve Hymn to the Fallen (Jiu Ge)

Hi, I'm Cwmhiraeth. Dcattell, thanks for creating Hymn to the Fallen (Jiu Ge)!
