Hi there, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you wrote an article about the Derby Choral Union. Based on your name and user page, I assume that you're the webmaster of the DCU? If my assumption is correct, I would like to suggest that you have a look at our conflict of interest guideline. The main point of it is that writing an article about someone or something that you're personally involved with is generally a bad idea, and is strongly discouraged. I've been away on holiday - hence the delayed response to your comments.
I can confirm that I'm the DCU webmaster, but, having read the COI guidelines, I don't understand why you feel that there's a conflict of interest.
I believe that the article I've produced is completely impartial (neutral), objective, uncontentious and historically accurate. It has been thoroughly researched and then proof-read by the society's historian, the publicity officer and chairman. No-one 'outside' the society would have direct access to the historical archives that it's been based on, nor (I imagine) would have the motivation to write such an article. The article is exclusively about the Derby Choral Union which I believe has a unique name, and does not reference any other similar society except where it mentions joint ventures with a neighboring choir. This has been an honest attempt to make more public the fascinating background with its interesting historical references to one of the UK’s longest standing choral societies.
I sincerely believe that it wouldn't "cause disruption to the encyclopedia", nor "risk causing public embarrassment outside of Wikipedia for the individuals and groups being promoted."
I do hope that you feel the article is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia.

Thanks for uploading File:DCU Logo 600.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
