Tour skating[edit]

Thanks for reminding me about the tour skating article. I'd forgotten I'd contributed to it. I've no experience of the Dutch version but judging by your description they seem to be two versions of the same thing so a single article feels like a good compromise.

Okay, we can discuss in English if you like - hopefully I can make myself understood. So, here's my reason for messaging you: I am also very interested in tour skating (långfärdsskridkoåkning). I recently made some edits in the Swedish Wikipedia articles concerning the topic; I also used your nice photo of "multiskates" to illustrate the article of different types of skates. Since I incidently possess exactly the same type and brand of skates (Lundhags) I noticed that on the photo the bindings were not attached to the blade in the same way as mine are. I had to check my assembly instruction, and according to it I had mounted my bindings in a "correct" way; i.e. on the upper side of the blade (if you know what I mean). So, I thought I should make you aware of this - maybe it doesn't matter at all how the bindings are mounted; or maybe those skates on the photo don't even belong to you.

Anyway, today was the first time this season I went skating on my favourite lake - we've had so much snow here this winter so it's been difficult to prepare good skating tracks on the lakes. Since it was the premier "tour" I took it very easy and just skated some 7 kilometres - just enough to make some sleeping leg muscles wake up! :o) Let's hope for lots of skating this year! Recent update 29th January: Went skating today again on the very same lake. Fairly good ice conditions, but a strong wind blowing against me made it a struggle.
