I realise you are testing and recommend inserting a new step so that the proposed new link be viewed by you. - Kittybrewster 21:18, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed - This was caused by me mis-writing a change rule, due to poor reading on my part (not by the program's actual code). The bot is currently correcting all the errors. (Log of fixes) --ThaddeusB (talk) 22:34, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Turned a peerage into a baronetage page

[edit]
Fixed this was due to my ignorance. I assumed "Baron" was a baronetage title, but in fact it is a peerage title. Rules have been updated to reflect this fact. --ThaddeusB (talk) 01:47, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mdash error in log

[edit]
Fixed I previously fixed the bug that caused the bad log file entry. I just didn't manually update the log file to remove the error. --ThaddeusB (talk) 22:47, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The IHT has been merged into the New York Times as the 'Global edition' and all pre-merge links to iht.com/... pages appear to be broken - clicking on any existing link results in http://nytimes.com/marketing/iht. Some pages can be found on the http://global.nytimes.com/?iht site, but that's going to be a lot of work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ihtlinks (talkcontribs) 12:58, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

there are something like 50 links.

Hey, I've got a series of external links that you may (or may not) be able to help with. The story is described in my blogpost here but can be summarised as: I would like to replace as many of the links as possible from 24hourmuseum.co.uk to the equivalent page on Culture24.co.uk using this list. Most of them automatically redirect from the old website (24 hour museum) to the new one (culture24) so that should make it easier to find the new URL, yes? The ones where the new URL isn't automatically provided could be trickier, but that can be done manually. can your bot do the auto ones?

The Hindu, one of the WP:RS in India with archives dating to 2000 have moved their archives from thehindu.com to hindu.com. This link is now at here without "the" in the URL. However links with beta.thehindu.com , a new version of their site will be online. So need to fix all links on www.thehindu.com to www.hindu.com. You could search within Category:Tamil Nadu or Category:India to target bulk of the dead links. Ping me if you need additional information. Thanks and have a good day. I was perusing the rare earth element articles and found that the lanl address used as a source on the discussion pages has changed from http://periodic.lanl.gov/elements/(element#).html to http://periodic.lanl.gov/(element#).shtml. Could you have DeadLinkBOT update these links (there are over 130 of them)? Regards--Wikimedes (talk) 05:32, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the Swiss Federal Statistical Office just changed one of the website addresses that is referenced in every article on Swiss municipalities. The old link was http://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/portal/en/index/regionen/02/gemeindesuche.html while the new link is http://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/portal/en/index/regionen/02/key.html . It's a simple change, but it'll take a while to do it so I'd appreciate if you could help me out. Thanks Tobyc75 (talk) 20:51, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FYI: Wikipedia:Bot_requests#scirus.com_links_need_to_be_dead-headed. Pending not hearing back in ~1 week, I'll craft a one-off run to satisfy this request. Hasteur (talk) 14:59, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This bot can still be used... However, it actually wasn't for tagging deadlinks, but rather updating links that had moved to a different URL. I see scirus.com was a search engien that is now defunct. Presumably, this means it was mostly used on talk\Wikipedia pages. I'm not really sure those should be marked as dead. For example, what would be the purpose of flagging an old AfD link as dead? --ThaddeusB (talk) 21:44, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Dictionary of Welsh Biography references

[edit]

Hi. The URL's for Dictionary of Welsh Biography entries have recently changes. Is there any chance you can update them on en Wiki for me?

The old Refs begin http://yba.llgc.org.uk/en/ - followed by a persistent i.d. For example - http://yba.llgc.org.uk/en/s2-DAVI-THO-1899.html

This first section needs to be replaced with https://biography.wales/article/. So that the url is as follows https://biography.wales/article/s2-DAVI-THO-1899

Note that .html doesnt appear on the end either. There should be a few hundered of these around Wiki, but i cant seem to find a tool to track them all down. Please ping me if you need any other information. Thanks! Jason.nlw (talk) 07:48, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
