[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:46, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Hi, I didn't create this wikipedia account to do promotion. I simply started out with one article that was missing and wanted to get that validated before attempting to edit already existing pages. I'm very sorry that it has come across like that and that was not my intention at all. I've also previously donated to keep Wikipedia running before becoming a member since I feel it's an invaluable asset for all. My sincerest apologies for the trouble caused.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Yunshui  23:48, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question: If you are unblocked, what kind of edits do you intend to make? Cna you give some examples? only (talk) 13:17, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Answer: Since it's my first time as an editor of Wikipedia, I don't have a clear plan on what exactly to edit and the exact guidelines to do so. But I am learning and getting the grasp of things, and I've seen plenty of stubs that could be expanded, links that are broken and references that doesn't exist. These are natural choices for edits but I could also provide adequate English to Swedish translations of articles, or vice versa. I'm also a big fan of order, so assigning templates to pages or breaking up "wall of text" articles into segments for easier reading are also things that can be done. As for new articles, I'm probably best suited for writing about music and art, but I'm also sufficiently knowledgeable in computer science and programming. Deathgroove (talk) 17:12, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds pretty reasonable. Having looked at your contributions, it seems likely that you could be a very productive editor here, if you can avoid the COI issue. Would you be willing to agree to avoid writing about Deathgroove Productions and any associated acts for a trial period (I would suggest a minimum of six months or 1,000 edits) if your account is unblocked? If so, I'd be happy to remove the block (pinging User:Ronhjones for any additional input from the blocking admin). Yunshui  08:35, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. while I have this page watchlisted, I have about 4,000 other pages watchlisted as well, so might miss your reply - to ensure that I don't please can you add the code {{ping|Yunshui}} to any response you make? Cheers, Yunshui  08:39, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Yunshui: Naturally, that wouldn't be a problem at all! I'd be more than happy to be able to do various small edits/improvements on Wikipedia articles here and there. :) Deathgroove (talk) 12:19, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Yunshui: I'm happy for user:Yunshui to make a final decision - I would suggest a name change as you have self declared to be "Deathgroove Productions" - although this may be an individual account, it could be construed as a group. Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:26, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, you're unblocked. The first thing you need to do is file a change of username request; here's where you do that. Once the request is made, you're good to go - steer clear of anything related to your company and you should have no further problems. Yunshui  23:50, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
