If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ask You in Gray requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Writ Keeper 19:46, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About the article...

[edit]

Hey, Decadeologee, I just wanted to talk in a little more detail about why I nominated the page for speedy deletion. The thing is that we have a threshold for inclusion for the subjects of new articles called notability. As you can probably imagine, we get new articles about garage bands that formed yesterday quite often (not that this band is one of them!), so we've developed some more specific criteria for bands that you can find here. It's nothing personal about you or the band; it's just that we have to make sure that the band has been discussed enough in reliable sources for us to be able to talk about them, while making sure that we don't stray from our standard of verifiability. At the end of the day, our articles are only as good as the sources they use, so if there aren't any reliable sources, we just can't have an article. I'm not sure that a band with only local significance is going to have enough coverage to be considered notable. If you can find some good reliable sources, though, feel free to add them and let me know, and I'll remove the CSD tag.

And if the article does get deleted, don't let it get you down! Lots of people have their first articles deleted; it's really not a big deal! And just because the band isn't notable now, doesn't mean they won't become notable in the future. We just have to give them time to become notable in their own right, and then we can write an article about them. Thanks! Writ Keeper 20:11, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Carly Rae Jepsen. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:12, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
