Notability of Requestfill[edit]

A tag has been placed on Requestfill requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Keilana, so are you saying if some 3rd party publication published something about Requestfill Inc. and that article was referenced in the "reference" section of my wikipedidia article you would then allow the requestfill.com article to be posted? From what I can tell that is all Nexis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LexisNexis and Business.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business.com have different with their article.

Well, it would need to be reliable, verifiable, and there should be at least 2. That seems to be the difference; if you feel that the other articles are not suitable for Wikipedia, you can always nominate them for deletion. This is not a valid reason for keeping an article. But, yes, if you were to write the article and it cited reliable sources, then it would be much more likely to be kept. Keilana, thanks this is helpfull and I will look at adding some external articles created about requestfill.com and resubmit at such time.

I see that an article on Requestfill has already been deleted. Since other editors (above) have already discussed the requirements with you, I hope you will think carefully before submitting more information about Requestfill to other Wikipedia articles, as you just did at List of search engines. Ed, while I understand the reason given not to publish an article about requestfill.com I do not understand why you removed the link to requestfill.com on the List of search engines page under the busness search engine section. The List of search engines page is simply a "listing" of what search engines exist on the internet. Requestfill.com is a registered trademark and business and has every right as every other company listed on this page that is simply a "list" of what search engines exist. Please point to the explicit policy on wikipedia that prevents a legitimate company from being referenced in a "list" on wikipedia

In addition to Wikipedia's notability requirements, consensus of the editors who work at List of search engines is that engines must have their own articles to be listed there. This is prominently mentioned in the hidden HTML text in the article, at the head of most sections, and if you check the edit history you will note that the requirement is enforced. This depends on the consensus of the editors working on that page. In the past, most such requests have been granted.. I hope you have been working on finding reliable sources to show that Requestfill is notable. :-) EdJohnston (talk) 02:36, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
