More ICBC[edit]

Am I supposed to begin work on this article from the bottom up? About half of it was taken from the ICBC site, it is true, but controversy section (constituting about half of the original article) was all original, and hard-brokered by me and anti-ICBC editors (with the help of a mediator). Your actions, while no doubt well-intended, has apparently led to the loss of all this material. I was going to rewrite it - but you'll have to tell me where to find it. Fishhead64 03:42, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your prompt responses. If you could repost the material, I will edit it to differentiate the text from the material on the ICBC website. Cheers, Fishhead64 03:54, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coprolalia[edit]

Thanks for the notes on the article. The editor just before you made some changes to the pronunciation, which according to the Tourette Syndrome Association, are not correct. (First o is short, second o is long.) I don't know how to specify the pronunciation in the International Phonetic Alphabet, so I just took the pronunciation out. Are you able to help me with International Phonetic Alphabet? The correct pronunciation is cop (like a policeman), row (like a row or column), lay, lia. Sandy 21:24, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi...just so you know, CBW and CBK aren't actually moving to FM; they're just getting FM repeaters to fill in urban reception gaps. Neither of the AM transmitters is going to be discontinued at the present time. In the future, anything's possible, but the license was for FM transmitters to coexist with the AM signals, not to replace them.. Bearcat 21:26, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The very same article also explicitly says that the FM transmitters will coexist with AM signals that aren't being discontinued. Bearcat 23:02, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Pgsm1.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. I do not delete images, just mark them to get the attention of the ones who have uploaded them to correct the tags. According to the fourth guideline of Fair Use: The material must have previously been published.. In other words, if you tag the image with a fair use license, you need to comply with this point. If you have created this image in any way, you could change the license tag for a free one which includes the source as yourself. -- ReyBrujo 03:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And there is no way of finding the real "uncropped" image? That would be a pity, the image is rather nice. It will have to be replaced, I guess. -- ReyBrujo 03:38, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sailor Moon images[edit]

  • The reason the images keep getting removed is because they don't specify the source of the images. Unsourced images can be deleted at any time. Protection Requests[edit]

Good morning, sir. Requesting that you re-review some of the protection requests that were denied by Katefan0; I am unsure why she would not accept some requests, especially with the requests for 'Green Day' (someone's request) and 'Vietnam' (my request). Her reasoning appears to overlook that it can be very tiring to have to monitor pages multiple times a day, especially if the monitoring is just for vandalism as of late and not for helpful, legitimate edits. I appreciate it. ^_^

And, regarding 'Sierra Mike', my favorite is Niner, followed by Two. I'm a fan of the Quebec series as well as the entire season in which they appear. I also like Papa (and you could probably point out the others I like from this pattern). And I'd like to note that if I had numbers trailing my username, they'd be 85. And I'm proud of it; you should see my dorm room (actually there's no Sierra Mike, but I adore Charlie Charlie Sierra). --Crisu 12:46, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CBC Television[edit]

I think we've had this conversation before, haven't we? I'm perfectly fine with moving CBC O&O's back to the title without the -TV suffix if we can confirm that they don't need to be disambiguated from other things with the same initialism, but as an example, look at what's currently at the unsuffixed title CBOT. FLAGS[edit]

Hi, Where do you get the correct layout and shapes for the flags you have drawn? Is there somewhere that specifies the geometry of all the flags? Thanks user:Wikigod

I personally don't know if Brian Bates is a notable person or not, but another editor tagged the article as non-notable-bio, and from the looks of it I agreed that "the article failed to assert the notability of the subject". The contents of the article were:

Brian Bates[edit]

Brian Bates is an ex-marketing manager in Oklahoma City who spends his time touring the city videotaping acts of prostitution as they occur. He gives copies of his videos to everyone who needs to know, such as the local police, as well as the offenders' spouses and bosses.

Would it be a good idea to make a 1:2 ratio image, but name it as Flag of British Columbia (1x2 ratio).svg? Sailor Moon Related Questions[edit]

"1. Remember the monster/youma Thetis who with Jadeite did the Romantic Cruise Strategy? Well Queen Beryal was very upset with when Thetis got killed because Thetis originally served under Queen Beryal, not Jadeite. If she served for Beryal then she must have been a special youma/monster. But I watched the episode, she seemed like a normal youma. What made her powers more special then the other youma? The only thing that I can think is that she could summon her group of water youma. Here's a page that lists her powers:http://www.fortunecity.com/rivendell/everquest/90/T/tethys.html

2. There is a website that has a theory on Viluy's mythological orgins: http://www.alltrees.org/anime/willowandoak/sm.myth.php It says this: Viluy might possibly be based on Vili, another of the Norse gods; he was one of Odin's brothers, and was responsible for giving reason to the newly created humans. This would fit with Viluy's scientific orientation, and the Norse root might help explain the snowflake motif in her costume. Here is a very short articles on Vili: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vili Do you agree with this theroy?" Neptunekh 23:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your answer. I have taken the issue to WP:DRV. Why does "the information on that page was duplicated from a webpage outside Wikipedia" constitute a reason for deletion? We are not talking about copyright here, but apparently just about duplication of information between Wikipedia and another website. Note that 1) there was additional information on the page that was not on IMDb. 2) Isn't most of the information on Wikipedia available on other websites? olivier 07:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SVG flags[edit]

Appreciate your effort on SVG flags. I started to undertake the effort to generate international maritime signal flags in SVG, but gave up when I couldn't find precise definitions of geometry (as with the euro sign) and color. One thing that I would have done differently, perhaps, is to define them as scalable rather than fixed size, e.g., this example which scales to fill the page. Maybe that is a limitation of Inkscape? I've only worked with raw SVG. Anyway, nice work! —Ksn 21:04, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was surprised to notice your userpage was still on my watchlist, but at least it gives me the chance to notice the note under your moodbox and extend hopeful fuzzy feelings. That sucks. I hope it gets cleared up soon. --Masamage 00:23, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Booooo. I bet they were good, too. --Masamage 00:35, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Witches 5 Links[edit]

Hi! Excuse me, but I would like to ask you something. I was wondering if I could add these 2 links to the Witvhes 5 page: This is a page about Tellu: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Pagoda/3987/ And This is a page about Eudial:http://members.tripod.com/mercuryinfo/akashio.html Could you please look at the pages before deleting them? Thank you! Neptunekh 22:50, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I saw that you deleted the witches 5 links. Why? Please respond. I don't understand what was wrong with the websites. Neptunekh 00:51, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Old PNG US Route shields[edit]

Greetings. Rather than post a series of image deletion warnings, I'd like to ask you if you'd be opposed to the deletion of the old U.S. route shields that you initially uploaded (in the form "US#.png"). Though some have already been deleted, many more still remain. Let me know. Regards, TMF T - C 05:25, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NFPA 704[edit]

Hi Denelson, I am programming an AWB script (see here) in which I also replace the old {{nfpa}} for {{NFPA 704}}. It will also transform all the templates that are not currently used in the chemboxes (commented out). I will run the script on as many chemicals as possible in the Wikipedia soon after the development team has applied this patch to the running wikipedia (I have no clue how long that will take, though). Thanks for already changing the active ones, I will keep an eye on it. Cheers! Dirk Beetstra T C 11:28, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
