Talk pages[edit]

Talk pages are for discussing how to improve the article, not for discussing the subject of the article. If you wish to discuss Abortion, and when life begins, please find a forum somewhere. Talk:Abortion is not the place. --KillerChihuahua^?!? 08:05, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have more feedback for you regarding talk pages, specifically your more recent addition to talk:Abortion. First of all, you added your comments right in the middle of other user's comments. On wikipedia, newer comments don't go in the middle of older comments, but instead under them, and usually indented. We "indent" on wikipedia by placing a colon, or multiple colons in front of the first line of text (i.e. <no wiki>::::</nowiki> for 4 indents in). Please try to take note on how other users have organized their conversations. You will notice that there will be a couple paragraphs of one user's comments, then an indentation and the next user's comments. Never is it ok to interrupt another user's comments but adding your comments in the middle. If you do that, then it is easy to loose sight of who is saying what (and keep in mind, all posts need to be signed). Or if you really, really have to interrupt someone's comment, at least learn how to use Template:Interrupted, which is meant to be used in such situations to help users see who is saying what. And I know that learning the ropes can be a little overwhelming, so I'm not trying to scold you or anything. If you have questions on how talk pages work, or anything else, feel free to contact me. That said, I will have to agree with KC's comment above. Talk pages are places for discussing how to improve wikipedia articles. They are not discussion forums, or places to discuss or debate the topic in general. The comments you added were to a discussion that is over 2 months old as well, so they weren't really active. I encourage you to focus on the article in question, and discuss ways to improve the article productively.
