Thank you

Thank you for that comment. :) Three hours ago, I was making sock puppets like crazy. Any chance that an admin might be able to get rid of these? --Sakura Avalon 17:29, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • A admininstrator can block them for you, you need to tell them there user names, and the rest is done. Its great to see people change, Instead of doing bad your cleaning up your act and helping others, I cant thank you enough Well Done Sakura Avalon (Dep. Garcia 17:35, 17 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

That image prob

You know, it's only just occurred to me that if Wikipedia:WikiProject FBI is okay then we would have been too. Oh well, the new image is better anyway, don't you think? SGGH 15:37, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article User:Dep. Garcia/My view on Police gear, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on [[Talk:User:Dep. Garcia/My view on Police gear|its talk page]]. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Mr Stephen 14:47, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, 'real life' isn't giving me the time to reply. I'll get back to you ASAP, but probably tomorrow. Regards, Mr Stephen 17:14, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The isssue is really one of "would you expect to see this in an encyclopedia?". I'm sure there's nothing like this at Britannica, say. Now, this is in user-space, so we have some leeway, but this is obviously intended to be directed at external users, not fellow wikipedians, and, with the best will in the world, doesn't help with building the encylopedia. The way to keep it in the short term is to delete the prod notice. The way to keep it in the longer term is to turn it into a scratch page for an article. A fully referenced summary of modern police gear is fine, but your opinions are not. All uses of terms like 'my' and 'I' would have to go. I found it through recent pages patrol. I read it (at a fairly shallow level) but it's not really my line. Regards, Mr Stephen 10:43, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Jamie Hyneman.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jamie Hyneman.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 14:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good grief

An award was received here, given by SGGH, it has now been added to my awards page

Also hope GMP didn't have too much trouble last night. SGGH 07:56, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Of course you can handle it, we're the UK's police force man! I didn't notice at the time but good work too. I hope there were plenty of specials out there to lend you a hand :D SGGH 11:06, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yes, I read somewhere Britian has the best police force (Apart from the: Political Correctness, Government Targets, and Health and Safety laws) but i could have read that a few years ago! There were some Specials (i find the term "hobby bobbies" a bit mean) out last night at the match, but at the raid (or drugs seize) I only saw full time bobbies. I even saw some Specials in riot gear at the match! Very impressed i was!

Dep. Garcia ( Talk | Help Desk | Complaints ) 11:28, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know specials could use riot gear, yet another thing for me to look forward to. SGGH 11:31, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think they had to be trained first, as i saw some with and some without. But I'll ask at my station for you (even though were not in the same force they might have the same rules) Dep. Garcia ( Talk | Help Desk | Complaints ) 11:34, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Dep, will do. I don't think Spanish police are too interesting to look at. See you later SGGH 15:19, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Deputy

Hi Deputy. thanks for your answer. however, that wasn't it. in fact what i saw was so different from what I see now, either at the search page or the logs page, that i think someone must have been experimenting with a new search box function. Either that, or i simply followed a link which i can't find. So any help which you can provide might be appreciated.

By the way, on another matter, I may be able to use your help on another issue. You seem like a pretty level-headed guy. Might you be available occcasionally to help me with an article with frequent WP:OWN and POV issues? I will let you know more later. but it might be nice to have the help of someone who is truly devoted to objectivity.

Thanks for your help. By the way, my name is Steve, and I live in NYC. See you. --Sm8900 01:42, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're a genius! Thanks, Deputy! One more example of our police department at work! :-) Thanks! See you. --Sm8900 14:57, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Dep

(I'm not trying to be annoying), however, I'm new to Wikipedia and am not sure if you'll get a message icon on the top of your screen, unless I go this route. Could you answer my question on my talk page? Thank You Curran (talk)

Alright, here is the page: G5 (aka. Golden Child). I was searching the {{helpme}} page, when I came across this user who was having issues. I attempted to resolve the issues. In addition, I believe that under the Wikipedia Naming Convention, this article should be renamed Golden Child (rapper). Thanks a lot for your help. Cheers, Curran (talk) 16:06, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, its possible that this article needs a cleanup. What is the tag I place on it so it is documented? Thanks SO much for all of your help, Deputy. Curran (talk) 16:08, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
