Hi there. an editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Reculement, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the editor does not believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the editor has explained why in the article (also see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues that have been raised at Talk:Reculement. If you remove the {{prod}}template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Your submission at Articles for creation: HMS Hound (1846) (April 14)
[edit]- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:HMS Hound (1846) and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- Having located information about the specific Royal Navy vessel HMS Hound of 1846 initial sailing, I wish to add a page specific to that vessel instead of having it appear with no link in the broader laundry list of Royal Navy vessels of that name.

- 2. https://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=4800
- Yes, I had an ancestor aboard that ship. Not trying to advertise anything, just trying to make Wikipedia *more useful* by including information about the UNLINKED "HMS Hound" of the mid-19th century British effort to interdict the West African slave trade.
- Anyone can doubtless do better than my tired attempt. Please do so. Deporodh (talk) 08:08, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:HMS Hound (1846)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:HMS Hound (1846), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
