Green Man[edit]

Hi Dgu56! Yes, you answered your own question. I basically moved the pics to where they were most relevant, and then made a gallery of those that wouldn't fit within the article. The Whitefield Green Man will be a great addition, it looks like a quality piece of carving. I'm afraid that, IMHO, Araneo's painting is just a fairly average bit of fantasy art, with none of the subtlety or mystery of the older images. I didn't think it really warranted such a prominent position, but is OK within the gallery. She's given plenty of prominence in the article as a ref source for the other artists' work.

Another guy whose work could be illustrated within the modern section is Aussie artist Graham Wilson, who has a link to [website] in the External links. (A bit naughty, I know, as strictly speaking it's a commercial site and shouldn't be in Wikipedia. I tried to get him to remove it a while back but he kept replacing it. Sometimes it doesn't seem worthwhile making a fuss.) Some of his drawing is a bit iffy, but his carving is generally pretty good: look at his Female Bacchus, Waratah Woman, Green Quoin, Summer Solstice Man, Ouch etc. His mock-mediaeval woodcuts of the Green Man Story are fun, too. Perhaps you'd like to contact him to get permission to use pics of one or two of his pieces? They'd be better than the Pat Austin one, really, as it's obviously an obsessive theme of his.
