  • That's fine, and I haven't reversed it myself because I appreciate it's unlikely to result in a deletion. However, there are very clear guidelines for Speedy Keep, which I linked to, and 'it passes NPOL' isn't one of them. Particularly since 'passing NPOL' isn't actually even a guaranteed reason to keep. The guideline clearly says "meeting one or more [of these criteria] does not guarantee that a subject should be included" (my emphasis). Shutting down discussion with a speedy keep simple because you think it's a waste of the community's time to discuss a proposed deletion is totally inappropriate and not a 'good job'.   • Hugsyrup, I am from WP:INDIA and you can trust me when I say that this was heading for a SNOW KEEP. Now I agree to what you stated above. Perhaps NPOL + IAR SPEEDY KEEP looks more appropriate here. Looking at the present condition of AfDs, I would say we should do more to not waste precious volunteer hours on SNOW KEEPS when they could be better utilized in other AfDs. Hence my pat on the back with a "good job".
To avoid such cases in future, perhaps you should explain how you judged this as not passing NPOL in your AfD nom ?--DBigXrayᗙ 08:46, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
A snow keep is not the same as a speedy keep. There are clear guidelines for when speedy keeps can be used, and this was not one of those times. Just using WP:IAR to totally ignore established policy without justification doesn't really cut it. I'm not interested in having the AfD debate here - I'm simply informing the user whose talk page this actually is that they should take care to understand Speedy Keep policy before they close discussions as such.   • Hugsyrup, you sir are missing the whole point here. We are here to build an encyclopedia, and not here to misuse bureaucracy and policies to defend reckless acts such as this AfD nom above. On top of that you here are badgering DA for fixing your reckless AfD on the basis of technicalities. Please note Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_bureaucracy.
  • Now coming to my question about your pathetically formulated AfD nom, please see WP:JUSTAPOLICY and understand that you were expected to explain your nomination statement while AfD'ing the article which you did not. Now you are not expected to start an AfD discussion here, but I asked the question since clearly there is a problem in your understanding of WP:NPOL . Which i wanted to address, lest you will repeat that .You are choosing to avoid fixing this competency issue. That is your call, but remember if i continue to see such pathetically drafted AfDs from you I may ask restrictions on you to save community volunteer hours from being wasted. Sorry Hugsyrup, i was away yesterday from editing. And thank you DBigXray for your clarifications on my behalf. I have no other additional things to say that DBigXray did not already say. What i will do from next time is not use "Speedy Keep", but use more verbose elaborate paragraph which would really just mean speedy keep anyways. Removal of my proposed deletion of Tito Mukhopadhyay

Hello,

I noticed you removed my proposed deletion of Tito Mukhopadhyay. The Resurrection of Jesus article clearly states that it is a Christian belief. By contrast, most of the references regarding Tito claim that his communication through rapid prompting method is absolutely known to be true, when this method is unproven. Notability

Deciding Notability of an article has always been a debatable topic, even in wikipedia. Articles about the local school or colleges of India as well as England has been accepted in wikipedia, certainly owing to heir notability although those are not supported by any special legislation. But district level Court and particularly the Family Court is based on a specific legislation of the Indian constitutions and it is quite different in its functioning and style from all other Courts. The statue is very specific about such a claim. Further, the List_of_district_courts_in_India contain red links which are meant to help Wikipedia grow.[1] The creation of red links prevents new pages from being orphaned from the start.[2] So when such a red link is developed, it is certainly in consonance with the policy of wikipedia and the purpose is never to advertise a judicial institution; because a judicial institution need not be advertised. So it would be wise to let the article develop in the interest of public at large.Hpsatapathy (talk) 08:38, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. If you are already a New Page Reviewer, please help out as much as you can. If you are not, please check out WP:NPP, then take a look at the requirements at WP:NPR and if you feel up to it, apply for the New Page Reviewer right at WP:PERM.
  • Kalapani territory has been a subject of edit warring by multiple editors. Kalapani is a disputed area between Nepal and India. The page was fully protected from 10 to 17 November. You're welcomed to patrol the page and keep your eyes on the new editors. Makes sure to assume good faith while editing the page.
  • An editor is pushing too high Jain POV in Jainism related articles. Join the conversation about the user at the noticeboard
  • India Search Result is a bot-generated page that tracks newly created articles related to India. It is a place to look out for new page pages. The page is updated daily and make sure to add it to your watchlist.
