Welcome![edit]

Hello, DianaAdame, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes[edit]

Hi! I have some notes on your draft:

  • Do not use Wikipedia to source itself. Wikipedia isn't seen as a reliable source, as anyone can edit, so it should never be used as a source to back up claims, especially those of a living person. You should be able to use all of the sources listed in the Spanish Wikipedia article, but you can't use the article itself as a source. You need to find sourcing to back up all of the information that you currently have sourced with the Wikipedia article. The other sources look good offhand, but the article could use more of them.
  • When stating an interpretation of an artwork, make sure that you attribute this to the source making the claim. So for example, the sentence "Jimenez's purpose of this photographic essay was to shed light on the influence that religion has on women in Mexico" should be attributed along the lines of "According to Andrea Giunta, Jimenez's purpose of this photographic essay was to shed light on the influence that religion has on women in Mexico". This way it doesn't come across like it's Wikipedia making the interpretation. (Wikipedia should only summarize, in other words.)
  • This is kind of a spinoff of the prior one, but be careful of being subjective. Phrases like "it is important to note" are individualistic, meaning that they come across as a statement made from the viewpoint of a singular person. What may be important to one may not be for the next person. The same goes for any terms like "unique" that could be seen as a single person describing something. (On a side note, terms like that should generally be avoided since they can sometimes come across as promotional since they're so frequently used in marketing speak - I don't think you have them in the article, but it's always good to be on the lookout for them.)
  • Some of the larger paragraphs look like they could be broken into smaller ones just for ease of reading - a large amount of text can be a bit daunting to the eyes.

Overall you have some very strong work here and a lot of this will be general copyediting. The main thing I'm concerned about at this point in time is the sourcing, as that's something that will raise concern with other editors on Wikipedia as well. I think you chose well here with the article, as she's obviously notable and merits an article, but hasn't had one created for her (until now!).
