Hello, the account Dino-Lite was blocked by Tokyogirl79 because it is the name of an organisation. I would like to have an account name change so that i can continue to use the account. Here are a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the three important principles above. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:51, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Hi, I understand all of the above and i am not trying to promote Dino-lite, i have been trying to write a legitimate encyclopedia entry about a noteable line of products. So far what i have written was not accepted or published in Wikipedia so i will not be able to violate any principles (that i fully understand and respect) untill i have been able to write a lemma that is not considered promotional. I believe that what i have written so far is not promotional and is in perfect line with other lemmas about products and companies - if you are willing, please compare what i have written to lemmas about 'old' companies like Nikon, Zeiss, Canon. The only difference imho is that Dino-Lite is a new company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.153.198.178 (talk) 14:02, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- It is silly to compare the notability of your company with the notability of Nikon, Canon, etc. Nikon and Canon easily meet WP:CORP notability requirements, and those articles have been created and developed by numerous editors that do not have conflicts-of-interest.
