Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page John Micheal McCarthy has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/album.php?profile=1&id=1282336272 (matching the regex rule \bfacebook\.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 13:33, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

The article John Micheal McCarthy has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:50, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the poetry from the page. You can quote brief excerpts from it in accordance with non-free content policy and guideline, but you cannot quote entire poems under our copyright policy. If you are the author and wish to verify licensing of this material, please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. A release must be either mailed to the Wikimedia Foundation or placed on the website where the content was first published. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:16, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on John Micheal McCarthy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from John Micheal McCarthy, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. MuffledThud (talk) 14:38, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your article contributions. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Creating articles on people

[edit]

In order to create an article about this person, you'll need to be able to assert notability per Wikipedia's notability guidelines on biographies, which will mean utilizing reliable secondary sources, like newspaper articles or magazine pieces. The subject's own webpages do not count. An article of this sort would be covered by Wikipedia's guidelines on "biographies of living persons", which in part urges editors to be extremely careful not to include any information that isn't sourced, even if it's true, and also reminds us that biographies particularly must be written from a neutral point of view.

If you are able to assemble necessary sources and if your subject meets the notability requirements, you may choose to create a new article yourself, although if you are closely associated with the subject, our conflict of interest guideline urges great caution, particularly with neutrality and not adding information you know to be true but cannot verify. It is strongly recommended that you do not edit an article on a subject with which you have a conflict of interest but instead consider proposing its creation at requested articles or at a related article or relevant WikiProject. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:05, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updating to say that I see the title is currently protected because the article has been created and deleted several times. If you do think that the subject meets those inclusion guidelines, you may wish to work on it at the temporary space and ask an administrator to review it when it is completed. If the administrator agrees that the article meets those standards, he or she should be willing to move it into article space again. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:07, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the info Moonriddengirl would you know how I can make the page more wikipedia like?--Disgracious23 (talk) 15:10, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The first and most important step is to assemble sources. Wikipedia has three core content policies: verifiability, "no original research" and neutrality. You really need to get together some reliable sources — newspaper articles, magazine articles, or websites that aren't connected to this guy that talk about him. Without those, the article will not survive.
To meet the inclusion guidelines for people, it would be helpful to show if he's received some kind of awards or been reviewed in reputable publications. With enough reliable sources, you should be able to meet that guideline easily. If he doesn't meet those guidelines, an article him will also not survive, and it would be far better to wait until he does. When an article has a history of being deleted multiple times, in my opinion, people become more suspicious of new versions. At that point, it begins to seem more like somebody is interested in promoting the subject than improving Wikipedia.
After you've worked on your sandbox version a bit, you might want to run it by "the drawing board" to get some feedback. Explain to the contributors there that has been deleted under WP:CSD#A7 multiple times and that you want to know if it seems to meet notability criteria, and they should give you good advice. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:25, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and with respect to this note, that admin only deleted the article once. It has been deleted twice since then by two different administrators. NawlinWiki's help was in the form of putting it in your user space so you could work on it further. I'm afraid you misunderstood the intent if you thought that meant it could be put into article space. I'm afraid that the article would have been deleted by most if not all administrators. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:28, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
