Jandek

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for contributing. Please rewrite all of your present contributions regarding Jandek in an encylopedic, Neutral Point Of View (NPOV) manner. Wikipedia is not a record review site. If you want to do more "opinionated" reviews (and preserve your original ones), I would suggest getting some cheap web space somewhere on the web and making a Jandek website to rival Seth Tisue's. ;) -- CJ Marsicano 15:24, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jandek (2)

[edit]

Hi there, good work on the Jandek articles! Three minor points:

  1. In the Trubee-interview, Jandek says he plays all the instruments on The Rocks Crumble, so John doesn't play drums.
  2. I always thought it was his shoes tapping on Down in a mirror, not a metronome or a clock.
  3. It's customary on Wikipedia to have a small introductory general paragraph before the first caption (for example called 'Review'), and after that the bulk of the content. I understand if you can't be bothered to edit all these pages again, I might have time later next week.

Anyway, thanks and keep up the good work. --Leo44 (talk) 10:40, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brilliant. I'm just listening to the interview, and in the second part, at 10:30, Smith says he recorded the electric part of Interstellar Discussion with 'another individual'. :) --Leo44 (talk) 16:45, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've got the interview on MP3, if you'd like it I could send it to you (via Soulseek for instance). -Leo44
You're writing a book with permission from Corwood?! Man! You haven't gotten any randy details from them have you? Brilliant, brilliant.
Well, this is my first YSI experience, but it should be coming in shortly. If you would have some mp3's of The Cell, it'd be nice if you could uhm well you know... Thanks. -Leo44 (talk) 17:14, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:0760.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:0760.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:57, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to I Woke Up

[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to I Woke Up. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:0759.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. YellowDot 15:12, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the album cover-template. I hope this settles the matter. --Leo44 (talk) 15:36, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

[edit]

I'm in the process of removing virtually all of your contributions to Jandek's albums. Although well-written, they are inappropriate for encyclopedic articles. Take a look at WP:NPOV. Sorry. C1k3 (talk) 15:09, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:0757.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:0757.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 19:02, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:0764.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:0764.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 17:09, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
