Speedy deletion of ESilicon

A tag has been placed on ESilicon, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Esilicon

I have deleted the article you wrote, Esilicon, because it was essentially an advertisement and would have required a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopedic. Now, that being said, it's not necessarily gone forever. If you feel you can improve it to the point where it would meet both our notability and neutral point of view policies, let me know and I can bring it back then move it to a subpage of your userpage where you can work on it for as long as you like without having to worry about it being deleted. During that time, you can ask for any help you need, and when you are done you can repost it and there is a much lower chance of it getting immediately deleted.

The article ESilicon has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please stop adding inappropriate internal links to Wikipedia, as you did to Application-specific integrated circuit. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. I'm moving the conversation to your talk page so that the discussion is all in one place. If you read Wikipedia's article about Conflict of interest you will find that people associated with a company should't try to promote it on Wikipedia. If others in the industry think eSilicon is worth knowing about, they can write Wikipedia articles. --Gerry Ashton (talk) 21:50, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your quick response Gerry. Again, I want you to know that by no means was my insertion about eSilicon a deliberate attempt to SPAM. Like I said, it was my first experience on this site and clearly I did not know the rules. My next question is, if I wanted to create a new definition about a new market segment/category that we are competing in, and frankly have pioneered and invented, how do I go about creating this definition? Also, I notice d a couple of companies in the ASIC section that do not have links like ChipX or cPackets....why do they exist on this site? Thanks again for all of your help. A good place to start with writing articles is the Five pillars of Wikipedia. These will give you a general idea of how Wikipedia operates and how you can contribute in a productive manner. You should also read the WP:Simplified ruleset too. If you would like you can submit any drafts you like to myself (create a new page at User:Djlipkin23/Drafts/Whatever The Article Is and link me to it by typing [[User:Djlipkin23/Drafts/Whatever The Article Is]] and I will endeavour to help you ensure it is neutral and well-sourced.

Bear in mind that unless something has been covered by major 3rd party press or very reliable industry journals, it is probably not eligible for inclusion in Wikipedia at all. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so it can only accept things that have been proven to be sufficiently notable.
