Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Apple Bottoms. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Bonadea (talk) 15:40, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Apple Bottoms. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. --Bonadea (talk) 15:47, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Apple Bottoms, you will be blocked from editing. --Bonadea (talk) 16:09, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Possible conflict of interest
[edit]If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Apple Bottoms, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Bonadea (talk) 16:09, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Your comment on my talk page
[edit]Hi, I responded to your post on my talk page but will post a note here as well: if you read the notices above carefully and follow the links to more information, I hope that will answer your questions. Please let your boss know that it is against Wikipedia policy to allow any kind of promotional or non-neutral language in Wikipedia articles, and that it is strongly discouraged for employees of a company to edit articles about that company. Direct him or her to the conflict of interest policy. I hope that addresses your concerns. --Bonadea (talk) 19:07, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Notability of ICER Brands, LLC
[edit]A tag has been placed on ICER Brands, LLC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ecoleetage (talk) 22:53, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hello! I did not delete the page -- I recommended its deletion. I am not an admin on this project -- only admins can delete pages. As I recall, the text read like an advertisement and did not come across as an encyclopedic article. This is, after all, an encyclopedia and not a promotional vehicle. If you are planning a rewrite, let me know and I will be glad to help. Cheers! Ecoleetage (talk) 14:57, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- I just saw your UNK NBA article -- it needs work. Please refer to the tags I put on the article to show where you need to bring it into the Wikipedia format. Thanks Ecoleetage (talk) 15:20, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of ICER Brands, LLC
[edit]A tag has been placed on ICER Brands, LLC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Gsp (talk) 15:25, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Getting it done correctly
[edit]Hello! I had nothing to do with the deletion. You need to speak with the admin who deleted it, User:Akradecki. Ask him how you can put the article online properly. You need to speak with him since he "salted" the article, which means the subject is locked and cannot be recreated without it being released. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 17:10, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have already answered your query (see above). I cannot help you -- please speak with the admin who was responsible for the article's deletion, User:Akradecki. Thank you. Ecoleetage (talk) 16:32, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of ICER Brands
[edit]I have nominated ICER Brands, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ICER Brands. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Dmanzor (talk) 21:53, 6 October 2008 (UTC) Hi, im not sure why this has been delted. the people who monitor wikipedia, seem to be very qick to delete articles without proper explanation. This artcile was written to give information about a company. There is no advertisment, no external website, and all the content is neutral! I cited some information as well - i.e about the CEO of the company having been the creator of NOBODY BEATS THE WIZ.... Instead of deleting pages, dont you think its more helpful to discuss what can be changed first? The idea of wikipedia is that users can put their input about companies,brands,concepts,etc. I think i am entitled to list this information, and if there is some standard I am not complying with, please break it down for me, by telling me what has to be changed instead of being so quick to tell me my content does not have the right to exist!
