Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Dmvradioguy. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page WBEY-FM, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 03:31, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

June 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mvcg66b3r. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, WBOC-TV, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. July 2019[edit]

On WBOC-TV: You're not an admin, only an admin can protect pages. And my edits are not disruptive, yours are by adding WP:CRUFT. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 03:21, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mine are not disruptive and I have requested protection for the page. I am adding accurate information pertaining to the stations. All the stations are owned by Draper Media and use information hand in hand. Dmvradioguy (talk) 03:25, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dmvradioguy: Are you employed by Draper Media? This may be a COI issue. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 03:29, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No I am not. Dmvradioguy (talk) 03:29, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dmvradioguy: Are you employed in the broadcasting industry? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 03:32, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No. Avid broadcasting and radio/tv fan. Again, not a conflict of interest. I have zero interest in the Draper Media company or any other broadcasting company. Dmvradioguy (talk) 03:34, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Mvcg66b3r: I’m not trying to be a pain or argumentative, but the stations are all owned by Draper. If you look them up through the FCC you’ll see the licensee to each station is WBOC, Inc. Each station airs content from the main station, WBOC-TV. As someone who has grown up in this area for so long, and seen WBOC grow, I know first hand which stations they are affiliated with. Edit War[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at WBOC-TV shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Keep in mind you just violated the 3RR rule. You need to discuss this matter on the talk page before making changes. NoahTalk 03:30, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
