Hello Dnayeri. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Dina Nayeri, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Dnayeri. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Dnayeri|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:57, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’m Dina Nayeri (the subject). I just added a few recent items that weren’t on the page and made the short summary more comprehensive 92.95.57.156 (talk) 18:03, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So if I want a recent item to be added should I send it as a suggestion for verification through some other channel? Or should I do it via talk?
Sorry - new to this. 92.95.57.156 (talk) 21:06, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help me

[edit]

Hello, I would like some help. I tried to add a recent award to the wiki page about me. But I didn't manage to do it right. Can somebody help me? Thank you Dnayeri (talk) 22:06, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You need to follow the instructions in the notice above. After that, you should make any request on the article Talk page. Also, do not edit without logging in. If you still have questions, ask them at the WP:Teahouse.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:16, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote your brother's article. That's why your article is on my watchlist. Such a talented family. I'll keep an eye on the article talk page. You might want to add a photo to the Commons. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:24, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
oh that's so terrific! Thank you. He is indeed the cooler of us two (and the more tech savvy as you can see by my questions). The note above seems to say that I should suggest it on the talk page of the Dina Nayeri page (or THIS talk page?) and wait for someone neutral to check my link? (which is here:https://www.bookcritics.org/2024/01/25/national-book-critics-circle-announces-finalists-for-publishing-year-2023/)
And also, I got flagged for summarising a few things at the top of the page. Was that too advertisey? It was all true stuff, but it seems to have been against one of the rules? (I thought I was disclosing who I was by the choice of username!)
Anyway, thanks so much for your help@Magnolia677. This is the first time I'm trying to do anything with this page, and my next step was to correct a few errors, maybe add some descriptions of my other books, as you've done. But I got a bit scared I'd make mistakes again. Dnayeri (talk) 22:41, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not "as you've done." I meant as the person who did this page originally has done (for Refuge) Dnayeri (talk) 22:43, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there, Wikipedia strongly discourages editors from editing their own articles (see the COI link above), so the best way to make changes is to suggest them at Talk:Dina Nayeri. If your proposed edit is supported by a reliable source, then editors are happy to improve the article. Again, I have Dina Nayeri on my watchlist, so I'll keep an eye on the article. Cheers.
