Happy editing! Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:08, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the welcome. I had already found the community portal, but the Help:Introduction page is new to me, I'll be sure to go through it. Also, just to verify and since I noticed it in the Help Desk thread just now - @Gråbergs Gråa Sång: - did you get a notification from this, like I did just now? Doctor Duh (talk) 17:15, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I did! 2 things you may want to try, if you don't "have" them already:
Lovely, thanks again! The "Discussion tools"... tool I already found, as a matter of fact I'm using it right now, and I'll have a look at your other suggestion as well. Doctor Duh (talk) 17:29, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Editing by non registered users[edit]

Besides other issues, I often wonder if editing by non-registered users allows for more sock pupetting in some cases.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:22, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnpacklambert, the end of IP editing would certainly make WP:EWLO moot. Having to specifically create an account for disruptive edits rather than just logging out would probably create enough of a psychological barrier to prevent some impulse-driven disruption, but I don't have the slightest clue as to how significant that might possibly be. In the grander scheme of things, bad actors with technical skill and a budget would still be capable of reliably eluding the checkuser tool, while the more bumbling types would continue to dive butt-first into the spike pit. Athanasios Raptis AfD[edit]

I suggest you retract the aggressive statement at the AfD. I'm also extremely frustrated with Das omsnezz's disruptive techniques, and would like to see sanctions, but I'd like to continue the recent lessened acrimony at AfD. Cheers, Ovinus (talk) 20:10, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. Dr. Duh 🩺 (talk) 20:14, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Hopefully the ArbCom-sanctioned discussion will sort things out longer term. Ovinus (talk) 20:33, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mail[edit]

I got the notification that you sent me an email, but no email actually arrived (not even in my junk folder). Not sure what went wrong, but figured I'd let you know so you know why I'm not responding, and so that you might try to resend if you'd like. AddWittyNameHere 10:47, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Huh, that's odd. Was just a small observation, and I unfortunately unchecked the "Send copy" box, so I might or might not just re-formulate it in a bit :) Dr. Duh 🩺 (talk) 10:51, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Received & replied. :) AddWittyNameHere 22:04, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
