Allergy[edit]

After many disappointing months I'm finally trying to do something about allergy. This article has been in a miserable state for far too long. I note from your talkpage comments that you have an interest in immunology. Could I attract your interest in helping to overhaul that article? I want it to reflect the current understanding of allergy and its related conditions, and debunk the prevalent view that every intolerance or hypersensitivity is "an allergy" with sound science. I'm also going to ask some other people to help out. JFW | T@lk 21:06, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd love to help. Count me in. DoktorDec 21:27, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of The Blizzards discography[edit]

According to undelete here, the PROD tag concern was as follows:

This article is 100% promotional and conflicts with NPOV and is referenced elsewhere in Niall Breslin

posted by Octanis (talk · contribs). I didn't really review the tag before deleting, I was just going through the PROD backlog. If you need any more information please ask. Wikiacc (°) 01:34, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the info. Is there any way that I could view the content of that article? It's quite likely that the tone did indeed conflict with NPOV, but I've been working on bringing up the standard of many of the articles within our scope. DoktorDec (talk) 21:20, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Check your email. I personally don't think it conflicts with NPOV but please don't recreate the article; instead incorporate it into The Blizzards or another relevant article. Wikiacc (°) 01:16, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Hi there, have you used this tool? Just input the PubMed ID number and it returns a correctly-formatted reference. Tim Vickers 21:09, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! That's bound to be extremely useful! DoktorDec (talk) 21:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, another thing you might be interested in is the Molecular and Cellular Biology WikiProject, if you wanted to join we'd be very happy to have you as a colleague. Tim Vickers (talk) 21:52, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to MCB! If you have any questions just ask on one of the discussion pages or drop me a note on my talk page. Tim Vickers (talk)

Casey Calvert[edit]

Message moved from middle of another message (originally posted by Swinglifeaway88) who says who can delete peoples add ins on this site? are there wikipedia gods who have no lives and just sit on here and edit peoples infrmation? casey calvert was a famous musician. thats substantial and reason enough to make the list. and that pretty stupid that it cant stay on the list.

I've already explained why the name was removed from both lists. I've also explained how you can fix the problem and add him back in if you want. I'm not sure what else you expect. DoktorDec (talk) 21:59, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Exoplanet citation[edit]

I've noticed you often update the exoplanet count on Planet. Just a note - when you do so, make sure to also update the reference information, namely access date (the date you check the info on the site) and the reference date (the date the catalog is updated). As an example, see what I did here. Thanks. ~ Amory (utc) 20:22, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your count on Planet is now 422, including some from 2010, but the sentence still says "As of December 2009". If you're going to update this total daily, wouldn't it be better to say something like "There are currently xxx detectable exoplanets listed in the Extrasolar Planets Encyclopaedia" both here, in Exosolar planet and wherever else you are updating? --RoyGoldsmith (talk) 20:32, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The "as of" predates my regular updating of the count. Typically the updates come much more rarely than in the last month, usually bi-weekly to monthly. So normally it is easy enough to keep it up to date, I forgot to fix it on my update yesterday and the update today was done by someone else. That said, having the date down to the day seems like overkill, so I'll change it to month and year. DoktorDec (talk) 20:53, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Improving Immunology Articles[edit]

Hi DoktorDec, I am simply an editor who thinks some of the immunology articles on Wikipedia are far from complete and the quality can be easily improved. I'd love to do it all by myself, but it'd be even better to do it in a team, to be more efficient as well as to get a wider viewpoints (from the medical, molecular and cellular viewpoints for example). If you are interested, please go to here and just start editing. The purpose of the page (it's a new page) is simply to get everyone together and collaborate, as to ensure there's editors for different topics. I look forward to working with you soon, any help would be greatly appreciated. Kinkreet~♥moshi moshi♥~ 00:40, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
